Book character breakfast and meet & greet online!

For those of you booking characters online today -- does there seem to be a limit? Any rules in place with this workflow?

i.e. -- are you able to over-book and cancel later? Or the system tells you that you already have a ticket for the same character during your cruise?

This first-time cruiser hopes all the tickets aren't taken by overbookers by the time I can get in. :)

What do you guys think is the likelihood of getting a booking for the character meal and Frozen meet for first time cruisers? Our online check in and bookings don't open for another month or so. I'd love to have the Frozen meet and greet, so I don't have to try and get it for our WDW portion.

I was able to book everything today for our cruise on 8/8. I have boys but they will be happy to do the meet and greets and for sure will love the character breakfast. There was (and maybe still is) plenty of availability for almost everything several hours later.

We just did the character breakfast on the Disney Fantasy. I have never said this about anything Disney cruise related....but it was aweful! Food was terrible and cold, very crowded and loud! Belgian waffles looked like egos. Not a pleasant experience! We will not get up "early" to do it again.

I'm a Silver member and was able to reserve ours for the EB Panama Canal Sailing in August on the Wonder (last cruise before the big refurb!!)

In case anyone was wondering, this is how it turned out to be:

Day 2 (sea)
Frozen M&G
Princess M&G

Day 6 (sea)
Frozen M&G
Princess M&G
Character Breakfast

Day 7 (sea)
Character Breakfast

Day 11 (sea, also Pirate night)
Frozen M&G
Princess M&G
Both sold out for this day

We booked our Frozen M&G on day 2 (10am) and the Princess M&G (10:15am) and Character Breakfast (9am) on Day 6. We would have done the breakfast on day 7, but that is our palo brunch day ^_^
I'm going to call in the morning to find out who the characters are suppose to be for our breakfast. Not interested if it's Disney Junior since we are 2 adults and don't watch the shows. HOPEFULLY it's the fab 5!

So what would the priority strategy be now when your booking window opens?

1) cabana (I know, slim chance)
2) Palo
3) M&G/CB
4) PAT

Does anyone know if you can book mixology in advance now? It doesn't seem like it.

I think its definitely a possibility in the future (and I would hope they do this as it would make things a lot easier with trying to organise myself). As this is the first time they've allowed pre-booking of activities onboard other than meals it will be nice to see what happens. I'm not sailing for over a year so hoping they might get enough feedback and good response from this that they do include it.

Do the Frozen and Princess meet and greets really only take 15 minutes? I guess I can see Frozen, because there are just the two of them and they greet people together. But I would have thought the Princesses would take longer to visit with.

I think the longest I had was 20 minutes and that was for Marvels as Thor was particularly chatty. They only have a few people at each slot which makes it a bit quicker than you expect. I think there were 2 people in front of my at Frozen and 4 at Marvels. Princess gathering tends to be 3 slots in terms of photo ops, Frozen 2 and Marvels 2 and you move through each of them so speed wise it takes very little time.

No here's a question we need to ask. Where do you physically get the tickets? If reserved online do they show up in your stateroom like when everyone got character breakfast tickets in the past, do I pick them up somewhere or will they just have our name on the list at that time? Being as I sail in 3 days and 8 hours I might have to find out first.:smooth:

Yep they appear in your stateroom! Enjoy your cruise!

Next question-

Does this mean that the ginger bread house making tickets will be available as well?

You never know! I think they could in theory do this for all the "ticketed" onboard activities but whether they will or not I don't know. I guess it will depend how smoothly this goes.

I was able to book the breakfast and both meet and greets so I believe the breakfast may fall under a different category. That being said if you wanted to book the same thing twice (in the case of multiple sea days) you cannot (at least for the meet & greets) so the two have to be different meet & greets.

Yes a CB is not a meet and greet.

Link reservations.

When you link your reservations then you can book for all.

There is an option online to do that at my cruise activities. Just need the other reservation number.

I received this email last night as well, however, my booking window does not open until Friday night. Am I able to do this today, or do I have to wait until my window is open?

Are you asking when can you link the reservations? That can be done at any time.

If you are asking when can you book tickets for the CB and M&Gs, that will need to wait until your window opens.

Enjoy your cruise!

I'm so excited! 1st time cruiser and day 75 finally arrived. It's just my husband and I. We weren't interested in booking adult dining, excursions or a cabana, but I was so excited to book the character meet and greets online!

I didn't ask, I was answering there!

Thank you for the information. I'm silver but had not received an e-mail. On the September 3 Med Cruise, the two days at sea had VIP Breakfast, Frozen meet and greet, and Princess meet and greet. It's just me and DH, but I booked all three.

Every time we've done the Disney Jr breakfast Mickey has been there too. Just thought I'd let you know in case that makes a difference to you.

Thank you for that info, Michelle.
