Book ADRs before package?

We are going Sept 20-26 but are waiting for a discount during that time to be available before booking. We want as many empty rooms as possible for that time so more resorts and room types get discounts. But, we are within our 180 days for ADRs so we booked them a couple nights ago logged into MDE on the computer as not to miss out on places we want to go.

Am I right in thinking we can add our room/ tickets OR package (depending on the discount) to MDE and it won't effect our ADRs? All of our reservations (room, dining, tickets, etc.) will still be in MDE and we will be good to go, just like if we had booked room & tickets first, then added the dining reservations later.

I see people saying the only reason to book ahead of time when you know you are going during a season with historical discounts is to book ADRs but why wouldn't it work the way I described above?

Yes, you can book ADR's and they will remain in your MDE account. They are independent of resort reservations. You can add your resort later.

Anyone can book an ADR, even off site guests.

You are doing the right thing. The only advantage to having a room reservation is the 180 plus 10. With an existing reservation, you are able to book ADRs for up to ten days after the 180 day mark. Otherwise, you would have to book each days ADR one day at a time.
