Book a cruise online & transfer to points/cash later?

DVC member services is not taking any but hurricane-related calls right now. Is it possible to book a cruise & pay the deposit online & then at a later date transfer the booking to half points / half cash? Does the DVC half cash rate stay as negotiated or does it increase as time goes by? Thanks.

Yes, you can pay the deposit direct with DCL and then transfer it over to a points reservation through DVC.

The points/cash rates through DVC are set and will not increase.

please do the math on this. we checked several years ago and it was much cheaper to use cash for a cruise. IMO the most cost effective use of points is for DVC resort reservations. everything else is better with cash option.
