100 year old oak trees down!! In the name of progress, no less! We live on nine acres in the middle of a mesianic oak forrest. They are cutting down about 1 1/2 to 2 acres of old oaks today to make way for a sanitary sewer and city water. I have been out there taking pictures and crying. Such a sad sight!

Oh...that is so sad....I love big old trees. We've got some huge oaks in our yard....probably not 100 years old though!

I cringe when I drive through the "new" neighborhoods and there are NO trees!! No matter how beautiful the houses are I couldn't live just because there are no trees!

I don't know why I feel compelled to stand out there and watch, but I have been out there for a couple of hours watching and taking pictures. It only serves to depress me more, but I feel like I have to do that to "mourn"!

The biggest tree is just going down!! By Tuesday there will be a big trench across the marsh and I won't be able to access our driveway. They think it will take about a month!
