Boogie Boards on plane?

One other thought, there are several Fed Ex around, they can hold for pickup there. I have a friend that ships their clothes for a 2 week stay then she doesn't need to bother with them and caring for her mother. She has a lumbar issue and lugging is out of the question. If you check them as oversize in a clear plastic bag, you pay for that, as with golf clubs I believe it will be more. But, the damage issue could be a biggie if you love these boards. Besides why carry them in the car too. Over packing and over thinking complicates a vacation. I would spend minimal amount of money to get one when you are there and leave it behind in the resort as a pay forward. It's a minimal amount of entertainment during your vacation. If you were spending a week at the shore and heavily using them would be different. There may even be bad weather and a trips to the beach minimal if any.

Update. We just came back from our beach vacation. I managed to find large clear heavy duty trash bags. I was able to fit all three boards together comfortably in one bag. We had the agent look at the bag to make sure they would accept it-- and it turns out it was no problem. We took SW so we had no worries if we needed to separate them into a few bags (and of course no extra baggage fees :lovestruc). Thanks to those who mentioned looking at SW policy on sporting equipment. Lo and behold they had info on boogie boards. I would never have assumed that, so I guess I am not the only person to bring them on vacation.

:thanks: We had a great time using the boogie boards !!!

We bought some body boards on a recent beach vacation and put them in a cardboard box to check them on the plane going home ( provided for free from the place where we bought the boards). We were not charged an oversized fee and they made it fine. We now have a padded bag we'll use to transport them on our next beach vacation. These boards cost over $100 each; I wasn't going to leave them behind!
