Boo to You & Turning 2! Oct 2012 PTR *NEW* 10/30 We're Back! TR Link Posted!!

I turned 27, and as I teased DH last year (and again this year) we are now in our LATE 20's! :lmao: Man it used to be fun getting a year older when I was a kid, now I dread it.

Maybe one day our trips will overlap! They would be so adorable together.

I'm glad you are giving it another try!!! Your chances of having a much nicer experience just have to be good after the way your last trip ended, right?! He is a December baby, isn't he? That's an amazing time to go.

Apparently I was getting a few too many views on my TR's for Photobucket to handle. :sad2: I'm going to try to upload some pictures to another server today and replace them, but if nothing else, they will be back up on the 5th when my new month starts at photobucket and my bandwith resets.

:lmao: late 20's! You crack me up girl! I agree though, getting older as an adult is seriously no fun at all!

I agree, hopefully some day we will get to meet and get the boys together.

Thanks I sure hope you are right! Yes Alex is a December baby (17th) so we will be there on his bday. I started a PTR, link in siggie (shameless plug).

Yeah I'll be patient.....if I have to! ;)

Bah...I'm in my 40s now, and I don't sweat getting older. (Though I wish the aches weren't starting already.) My philosphy is I got too choices, get older or die, so I'll gladly take the former.

I'm with ya there! Us Disney nuts are forever young anyways ;)

Hope that you're able to make rope drop on Sunday. I feel for you having to leave your luggage in the car. We had to do that on our last day. We were determined to get as much time in at the park as possible and going back to the hotel would have wasted too much time.

So not only am I glad you are giving Disney with a toddler another try, I'm SO glad you are doing a PTR! Heading there next...:surfweb:

We did it on our last day in November too, and it wasn't too big of a deal. Now that we have Paxton, we rent the full size cars and our suitcases at least all should fit in the trunk, so I'm not too worried. I'd be more high strung that morning if we had to pack up, leave that resort and go to WBC to check in, then try to make it to MK for rope drop. We did something similar on our Babymoon trip and managed just fine, but that was only 2 of us! It's definitely not going to be easy with a baby!! :rotfl:

Couldn't have said this any better myself!:thumbsup2

I saw you over there! Thanks for coming aboard for another trip of mine. Hopefully this one is much better

 no I can't see doing all that running around with a toddler in tow and still making it for rope drop. We were never too big on rope drop except for the one at SWW before we had Alex. We didn't make any on our February trip so I'm hoping to at least make the MK one for Alex in December. I don't think DH has seen the MK one. We have been to EPCOT for rope drop too by accident but they didn't do anything special at the front of the park. We've seen the one in the middle of the park before by coming in at the world show case but that was on our first trip together (DH's first ever). They're fun! I can't wait to see how Alex likes it.

Hi! Sorry I've been so busy. your day 2 plans sound great. Maybe I missed this but why aren't you just using a pack n play for Paxton? Is he getting to big or doesn't sleep well in it? I'm going to check out A Baby's Best Friend too, but had just planned to get a crib at BLT and then a pack n play at our offsite place. I've also been looking into other portable crib things, becaues the one I got caused a 5m old's death (awful) so now I am afraid to use it...

We really enjoyed AK's opening show on our trip last year, but it seems like they have done away with it. Actually, now I think the ONLY park with an opening show still is MK! It is so worth it to get there early to see though. Really gets you even more excited for a day in the Magic Kingdom! Hopefully you can make it one morning of your trip. :thumbsup2

He is pretty tall, and we noticed in DL that he was filling up the Pack n Play! We are figuring by the time October comes, he will have outgrown it enough to sleep in for a whole week comfortably. It would be SO much easier to just use from the resort...I think you will be fine on this upcoming trip with Aria since she will still be pretty small. We always just bring sheets from home to dress it with. So we are looking at the full sized cribs or a toddler bed from ABBF and bringing our own linens.

That is awful about the portable crib accident! Was that the little pod thing that went on the floor? How awful for those parents. I can definitely see why you'd be looking at different options after that!

Yeah it does seem like MK is the only park still with a rope drop show. I can't wait to see it! MGM still does an opening show during SWW but I don't think they do it all year. That one is really funny! Thanks I hope so too.

I hope everyone had a great 4th of July! At least, if you are in the USA. If not, I hope you had a great Wednesday. ;) Somehow, both DH and I were off so the three of us got to spend the day together! It was great, because time like that is so hard to come by...I work every other weekend, and most of the time on my weekends off we have something to do, so we never have time to just hang out around the house.

Our Independence Day celebrating actually began Tuesday night when we went to the nearby residential development's party. I really had wanted to go for the fireworks, but Paxton wasn't having it so we left early. Aside from getting some food and walking around, all we did was wait in line for 20 minutes for the pony rides. Paxton was a little antsy in line, but nothing a little bit of bubble magic couldn't fix!

They had other stuff going on like face painting, hot air balloon rides, and live music. But eventually it just got really crowded and Paxton was getting cranky and there was still more than an hour until the fireworks started, so we decided to leave early. There were still people pouring in when we left! I think it will probably be more fun next year when he's a little older and we can come better prepared.

Yesterday we started off with a little pool time in the backyard! Paxton absolutely loves his little baby pool, but his favorite part is filling it up with water from the hose! :lmao:

We put on Mouse World Radio 5 which was playing patriotic music all day long while we played in the pool. For lunch, DH fired up the grill and we had some hot dogs. Not my favorite food, but I'll eat them on occasions like this where it's appropriate holiday food! lol And last night we watched Fast Five which was actually really good. Paxton was even snuggling up in DH's lap for some of the car racing action scenes. :thumbsup2

Now on the anniversary trip front, we have finally decided what to do! We actually make 5 years at the end of September but with our WDW trip just a month later, we decided it would be easier to celebrate a little early, so we started looking at the weekend of 24th-27th and maybe doing a weekend in New Orleans again like we did last year. But then I started thinking...you know we have these Premier AP's and we might not have any kind of AP again ever, at least night for a long time. Maybe we should go to WDW? I started looking at resort prices (we don't have enough Wyndham points to stay anywhere) and we were thinking a fun weekend in WDW just the two of us staying onsite, using Magical Express, etc. sounded great! I even was able to score a lunch ADR for Le Cellier that I was excited to try.

But then, DH started doing some research of his own...turns out we could go back to Disneyland for just a couple hundred dollars more, AND despite the fact that it is a much longer plane ride, we would actually have MORE time in the parks than if we did WDW. After a few days going back and forth, last night we booked the California trip!!

Our flight there is similar to the one we took in May, getting us there at about 9:30 am. We are getting a rental car, probably doing Name Your Own Price on Priceline again. We are staying in a King Bedroom Suite at the Peacock Suites...

peacocksuites.jpg

It has free breakfast & wireless internet, and only charges $10/day for parking, which ended up being the best deal of all the places we looked.

When we arrive on Friday, we'll spend a big chunk of the day sightseeing in Los Angeles, something we wanted to do in May but didn't have the time for. Then we will probably go to a park that evening. We will have all day Saturday, all day Sunday, and most of the day Monday in the parks before our flight leaves at 6:45 pm. Even though it's the same amount of days that we would have spent at WDW, we will actually be able to maximize our time by being able to drive to the parks and by not having to use any mode of transportation besides our feet to park hop between parks! The only less than ideal part is that with the time change, we will be arriving at the airport in New Orleans at 12:30 am. This presents a challenge because my parents will have Paxton, and we'd love to go there to get a few hours of sleep before heading home in the morning. Unfortunately, their multitude of dogs will keep us from slipping into their house undetected in the middle of the night, and I'm positive their barking will wake Paxton up. So we are looking to find a cheap hotel near the airport that will let us check-in at 1 am.

I'm really excited we chose this for a number of reasons!

1. We didn't think we'd be back to DL for a long time, and after this, we probably won't be so we get one more chance to experience it!
2. We will be able to see Cars Land!
3. We might get to see the fireworks we missed in May, and we should definitely get to see The Magic, the Memories & You which we also missed, and get to see World of Color again...probably a few times!
4. We will be turning around to go to WDW just a couple of months later.
5. We have experience WDW a few time on adults-only trips pre-Paxton, but this will be our first and maybe only time to enjoy DL adults-only.
6. Having just been there, we don't feel like we need to do everything, so we can do a lot of things we wanted to do last time but couldn't...spending time in Los Angeles sightseeing, spend more time at Downtown Disney, and explore the resorts.
7. Did I mention Cars Land and World of Color?! :woohoo:

I am really excited about this, and feel so blessed to be able to experience DL again. Never in my wildest dreams did I think that we would be vising Disney Parks 4 times in the span of 12 months and that 2 of those times would be to DL/DCA! After this whirlwind of a Disney year, maybe it's a good thing we won't be back until October 2013. :lmao:

Firstly, I'm glad y'all had a good 4th and were able to spend it together. :) it's a rare thing here too to be able to spend holidays together :(

Secondly, OMG I hate you!!!! Lol seriously though, best DH ever!!!! Taking you to DLR for your anniv! That's going to be so much fun and I'm dripping green with envy! I still can't talk DH into AP's let alone a single trip to DLR lol!

Wow that's exciting news about your anniversary trip!! :goodvibes

Cars Land and Buena Vista Street look incredible, definitely a reason for you to head back to the West Coast :cutie:

Looks like you had a great 4th of July - I wish we had a holiday like that in England lol :cloud9:

:thumbsup2 I like to think so. :rotfl2:

THAT IS AMAZING!!! So happy for you guys! We loved going to WDW on our own last year without the girls! It was so much fun! You haven't even finished your TR from DL...you better get going girl, you're gonna have two more trips to report soon!! LOL!!

I've got my name in the hat for the new infusion center that we are supposed to be opening at the hospital (eventually... they have been talking about it forever!), which will put me working 5 days a week 8-5 vs. 2 12hr shifts a week with rotating weekends. Once I get into that position, no more weekends or holidays! Now, if only they would actually get to work on getting it ready...

Ahh, don't hate me!!! :rotfl: When DH presented it to me, he started out by saying, "I want to ask your opinion on something, but I don't want to get you too excited in case it doesn't work out." :lmao: I'm planning to do another short TR for that trip, so just direct your DH to the DL TR threads and maybe that will sway him!!

I'm so excited about it, but a little nervous at the same time about leaving Paxton. Cars Land and BVS are two major draws that swayed me to returning to DL instead of going back to WDW. I was watching some Mickey Mouse Clubhouse this morning with DS and caught a Disney 365 segment showcasing Cars Land and got even more excited!! I have kind of avoided looking at pictures because I was so disappointed that we had missed out on it by a few weeks. Now we get to see it!

:thumbsup2 I like to think so. :rotfl2:

I know, I thought that to myself this morning!! How am I going to juggle all these TR's and how will my bandwith at Photobucket ever keep up?! :rotfl2: With frequent updates, I should be able to finish my first Disneyland TR before we go on our Anniversary trip. I'm almost done with the DL portion of the trip anyway!

Jealous.

Looks like a great idea. Especially since you'll get to experience Cars Land this time.

Oh my gosh, what an awesome anniversary present! I, too, am very jealous, but also very happy for you! :goodvibes

I'm really looking to get to Disneyland next year, maybe Oct 2013. I'm going to have DH read both your TRs to try and convince him! :rotfl2:

First...I'm all caught up. Loving all your plans. I almost bought AG the Mickey shirt Paxton wore for the 4th the other night...but he picked out a new Buzz/Woody T instead.

Second...I got caught up on your May TR and am subscribed to that too. My husband appreciates your DH's research. He enjoyed seeing all the popcorn machines and weather vanes. Don't you love Disney details?

Third...I'm so excited you get to go back to DL for your anniversary! That's amazing. We are actually planning to do that next year for our anniversary. This year we went and ran the Expedition Everest Challenge since it was a few days after our anniversary. We've since been bit by the runDisney bug. We are planning to each run a half at Disney World this winter on our current APs before they run out and then I think we are going to splurge next year and do the Premier so that we can run the Disneyland 1/2! Which will fall a few months after our anniversary but who cares because we'll get to do DL solo. :goodvibes I'm excited since we've been there for a day but we barely scratched the surface of what all is there. We didn't even make it to CA. I can't wait to read your review of the place you're going to stay at. I'm currently torn on do we stay on property/off property for the race since there are off property places literally right next to the on property places.

Last...think of me on your 2nd day of this trip, the 21st, it's my birthday! I told DH that for my 30th bday next year I didn't want a party I just wanted to be in the MK on my 30th bday with our kids. So, if y'all do October 2013 at the same time we might just have to meet. :)

What a great holiday you all had.:) Nothing beats family time. Sorry fireworks didn't work out. This was DS's first 4th. I had my doubts that it would work out but some how we pulled it off and DS got to see his first fireworks. I was in shock to see him still awake when the fireworks started at 9:45. He didnt have much of a reaction though, I think he was too tired to care about what was going on..haha. The whole experience gave me reassurance that we would get to see wishes this trip. :thumbsup2 Last trip when he was 7 months we didn't get to any of the night activities because his bed time was 6:30. Now that it is closer to 7:30-8:00 we have alot more flexibility.

Paxtons Mickey shirt is adorable. I think I saw it at Target and was tempted but DS is still small for his age and I think the smallest they had was 12months. Every time I see your pool pictures I smile. Paxtons reaction to the water and hose is adorable.

Your anniversary trip sounds amazing! Disneyland twice...you are too lucky!
