Boo to You & Turning 2! Oct 2012 PTR *NEW* 10/30 We're Back! TR Link Posted!!

Glad you had such a good weekend. We actually surprised DH with a "Fathers Night" on Friday. We made him a special meal and got him cupcakes. :) I have only been to IHOP once, I'd like to try it again sometime. DH and I also always get different things and split half of our meals with eachother so we get to try more new things and of course lo just kind of gets a bit of everything.

I love Paxtons little hat it is too cute! His little smile is adorable. Your swim time looked like it was alot of fun even if it was cold. We haven't taken lo to the pool yet this summer. The first time he was ever in a pool was at Disney is Feb, so we will need to get to a pool in the next coming weeks.

Great weekend! I love the sombrero and Maraca! and yes, I knew exactly what you were talking about! We called them punching balloons growing up.

I have a Cricut, but just the regular one. I would love the Cricut Expression, either generation 1 or generation 2! I love the Winnie the Pooh cartridge. I have the regular disney one, but not the pooh.

Aw great fathers day post! Happy birthday!! So nice you had such a great weekend. Pool pics are great and love the one with the maracas. I also love those balls with the rubber band! Fun! Our fathers day was ok - we "tried" to go boating...twice. Lol

Thank you! :goodvibes We were laughing at the fact that in almost every picture of Paxton holding something, it's blurred from so much movement. That boy just can't be still!

Oh no! Definitely understand "trying" to do something and it just doesn't turn out how you want, especially with a little one!

What a fun day! It's a bit late, but :bday: !! And thanks for making me crave pancakes. :lmao: I love that Paxton and your hubby are wearing Disney shirts. :) The Cricut Expression is so awesome! I don't use mine nearly enough, though. I must look into getting Disney cartridges to make some goodies for our trip!

Thanks so much! :goodvibes Sorry about making you crave pancakes. :rotfl: At least I didn't post a picture!! We were all (and not on purpose) wearing Disney that day. I wore my black sundress with the animal print Mickey heads on it, I just didn't get a picture of me wearing it. Oh well. We also brought our Mickey & Minnie chip & dip bowls!

I haven't been able to use my Cricut much since getting it because I only had the 2 cartridges that came with it and they aren't very useful for a Disney World scrapbook. So now that I have new cartridges, I can't wait to put that machine to work!!

Is he photo bombing or making a face at Paxton? LOL

Happy belated birthday!

:lmao: I think he is making a face at Paxton, but it was just funny. Neither of us noticed at first when we were looking through the pictures!

Thank you! :goodvibes

Sry so late! Happy Birthday!
OMG I love IHOP
Like seriously if you ask me what my favorite place to eat! is its IHOP!!
Are you signed up for there revolution email club. You get a free meal when you sign up and on your bday!

:goodvibes Thanks!

We hadn't been to IHOP in forever, so I was excited to go even though it was waaaaaay too much food!! Didn't know they had an email club but I'll definitely check it out. Free meals sound awesome! :thumbsup2

Sweet pics!! Looked like your DH had a lovely Father's Day!

Thank you, he definitely did! Last year he was offshore for his first Father's Day so this was his first FD he actually got to spend with Paxton. :goodvibes

Happy belated birthday!

It looks like you had a nice weekend there. I'm glad you got the opportunity to get in the pool for a bit. I don't know what it is about sticking their faces in the water, but DS does that all the time. I keep trying to tell him to close his mouth before he tries to go under water, but he just won't do it. One of these days, he'll learn, I guess. :rotfl2:

Not really, but DD smiled at me for the first time... and I don't mean the little "I have gas" smile. A real big, full face, eyes sparkling smile. That was a pretty awesome fathers day gift.:thumbsup2

Thanks!

He was actually both dunking his face, and trying to drink the water! It's funny too because he hates when we pour water over his head in the bathtub to rinse his hair, yet in the pool, all he wanted was water in the face. Looks like it might be a good year for swim lessons!

That is SO awesome!!! And what a great day for her to do that for you. Definitely a memory for the baby book. That's one you don't want to forget!

Cute idea for Father's Night! Something a little different. :thumbsup2 And that's exactly what I wanted to do at IHOP. DH had not said what he was getting until he ordered and when the waiter walked away I said, "What are you doing, we could have shared!" :lmao:

Swim time was really fun and it was his first time in a big pool this summer. We have done the little kiddie pool in the backyard which he really loved too. I'm hoping we can take some time to go to the pool in our subdivision this year. I didn't think he would love it this much!

I figured there had to be a name for them, but I couldn't think of it!! DH has said he bought a bunch of cartridges for me and is holding onto them for different occasions, so hopefully he has some more Disney ones in there! :thumbsup2

Happy Belated Birthday!!!!

And YEA for one more Disney day!!

Paxton looked super cute in the Sombrero :)

Thank you!!

I am soooo excited that we are now going to have the 8 night vacation I wanted! 7 nights is just not enough anymore. :rotfl:

Happy belated birthday! :bday:

I'm glad you guys had such a nice father's day! The photo of Paxton with the sombrero is adorable, and I can totally understand why the maracas would be a big hit! :)

Our father's day was not so great, we had an uncomfortable breakfast with DH's parents (my MIL was angry at the waitstaff), and then DH flew back to Virginia to oversee the movers. Well, at least he was here this year, last year he was traveling for work. I really need to make next year special, poor DH has gotten the short end of the stick the past two years!

Oh and I totally think you should book the Little Mermaid room at AoA! I'd love to hear a first hand report!

That stinks about the breakfast. :sad2: We had already made plans with my parents when MIL mentioned to DH they were having a get together at their house. Every time she does this, she waits until the last minute so we usually have plans already and then she gets upset when we say we can't come and starts going on and on about how we NEVER come to anything she puts together. I told DH that while I understood it was his Father's Day, I absolutely was NOT spending my birthday with a woman I don't get along with! That now means we are roped into a July 4th event with them that I'm not looking forward to, but it must be done to keep the peace.

Last year DH was offshore for work too for his first Father's Day, so I definitely understand what a bummer that is. Hopefully next year you can come up with something awesome for DH to make up for the past couple of Father's Days that were less than ideal!

Still trying to decide on which resort, and I would love to do the Little Mermaid rooms! If an AP room discount comes up though, it might be too difficult to pass up the savings because I know they won't be discounting AoA anytime soon! We shall see, I guess. AoA is now my #1 pick though. :thumbsup2

Sorry I missed saying happy birthday so Happy Belated Birthday! Looks like it was wonderful. Paxton is adorable as usual. I wish I could bring Alex to play with him. I think they'd have lots of fun. Love the pictures from swimming and all the gifts Paxton got. Funny how it was your birthday and he gets all the goodies haha. :goodvibes

Aw, well thank you! This was the first year I was not too excited about turning a year older and it will only get worse from here. :rotfl:

I think Alex and Paxton would be BFFs for sure! They would be adorable together.

I know right? I should have mentioned, FIL did give me a little $$ which was very nice of him! :goodvibes I know it is only going to get worse, FIL tends to go overboard on gifts. I think he told DH he has all of Paxton's birthday & Christmas presents bought for the next 3 years. Although that will definitely NOT stop him from continuing to buy things between now and the next event. If he sees something he wants to give, he just buys it, even if Paxton will not be old enough for it for a few more years.

So now that our day one will officially be Saturday October 20th, this might be a little deja vu but here are our (revised/adjusted) Day 2 plans!

Day 2: Sunday October 21st
So excited that was was supposed to be our travel day is now a full Disney day!

This morning will be starting pretty early, since we will first be checking out of whatever hotel/resort we are staying in Saturday night and heading to the park with our luggage in the trunk. Not crazy about that idea, but we did discuss going to Bonnet Creek to check in and leave our luggage, but I'd really only be willing to do that if we have a chance of getting right into the room, which is doubtful considering it will be very early. Better to just get right to the park and hopefully make it for rope drop!

What better way to kick off our first full day than with the Magic Kingdom rope drop show?

IMG_4541.jpg

It will just be the three of us because my parents are planning to do Universal Studios this day.

I don't think we will be able to resist heading straight to Fantasyland to ride the must-dos there. I really can't wait to try the new interactive queue for Dumbo. I think Paxton will love it! So even though we will probably check that out first before the line gets long, I'd like to try it again when the wait is maybe 20 or 25 minutes to give him a chance to play in the play area.

IMG_0235.jpg

Touring Plans does not have this day rated very high on their crowd calendar so I'm hoping we will be able to get a lot done.

We will probably have lunch at a counter service before heading out of the park for a break in the early afternoon. We can go check in at Bonnet Creek and hopefully our room will be ready so Paxton can possibly take a nap. I'm thinking we will need to rent a full sized crib for him this trip since the Pack & Play is getting a little squished for him, but I don't think we will have moved on to a toddler bed yet at home. So we will have to make sure that has been delivered today as well. And while Paxton is napping, one of us can be unpacking while the other makes a grocery run for milk, snacks, breakfast foods, diapers & wipes, and for our dinner for Wednesday night.

publix2.jpg

After our break, I think we will head over to Animal Kingdom for the afternoon.

Photo0021FourBySix.jpg

I know that sounds kind of silly since that park closes early, but here's my thinking. We have never seen the afternoon parade there, so maybe we can make it in enough time to catch the parade at 3, then the park closes at 5 pm. Plus, it seems like the park clears out after 3, so we should be able to get onto the rides pretty quickly if my thinking is correct and get a few attractions done before closing, and possibly have a really awesome Safari experience!

0088.jpg

Here's why I'm thinking this. With our original plan of flying out Sunday morning, we would have gone to mass Saturday afternoon. Since we are now arriving Saturday afternoon and I don't want to miss out on time in the parks our arrival day, we are faced with going to church sometime Sunday, and the evening mass would work best. We could stay at AK until it closes, hopefully my parents can take Paxton back to the resort for the night so DH and I can go without having to wrangle him, and we can go to Mass at 6 pm and Mary Queen of the Universe.

shrinefacadeindex.jpg

Now as far as after church, I'm thinking if our schedule is anything like it is now, we will just go back to the resort for dinner, bathtime, and bed after church. However, if Paxton is able to stay up a little later, maybe we can all meet up at a park for another hour or two, but I highly doubt it. We will want to get all the rest we can for another rope drop morning!

Great plans! I'm not able to see the pictures you posted, though. :confused3 We'll be at MK that day, too! We'll be taking our son on his very first ride ever, any suggestions? Maybe Dumbo - I've never even ridden it!! Well, I may have when I went in the 80's, but I have no memory of it.
I think it's a good idea for you guys to head to AK for the afternoon - makes sense! I LOVE the AK parade. It's so colorful and fun!

I cant see the pics, but your day 2 plans sound great!

We have NEVER made it to rope drop :scared1:, so I am determined to get us there in Dec.

The AK parade is fun. Very colorful.

I cant wait to see Fantasyland! The interactive Dumbo queue sounds fun for kids.

How old did you turn? I turned 30 last year. So far it's not too bad. :goodvibes

I think so too. Maybe one day we can meet up at WDW :thumbsup2

Haha that sounds like mine and DH's families with gifts. My living room looks like TRU threw up in it and I didn't even buy half of what he has. It's insane! It's nice though too because you don't have to worry about him going without haha! That's nice that you did get some money. I usually get money on my Bday too that I wind up spending on Alex anyways  This year I plan on spending my bday money booking a Disney trip (yeah we're going back for Alex's 2nd bday...shoot me now! ) Anyways, like I said on the DLR report, Photobucket is being stupid and I can't see your pics so I'll have to try and read your update some time tomorrow in the midst of wrangling the boy

We took our DS on Peter Pan for his first WDW ride ever. He absolutely loved it even though he was sick :goodvibes We never did make it over to Dumbo

So sorry about the pictures everyone!! Apparently a lot more people than before are viewing my TR's! I'm working the next couple days which doesn't give me a lot of time to try to fix this, but I'll do my best to get the pictures working again!

I understand concerns about leaving luggage in your car while you're in the park, but we always seem to end up doing that either the first or last part of our stays. I just always make sure to pack everything away as well as I can so it doesn't look like we're "loaded down" to prying eyes. I'd think it is probably safer at Disney World than it would be at most other places, and it beats wasting valuable park time in the morning!:thumbsup2

I like the idea of heading over to AK in the afternoon. Last year was the first time we ever even stayed long enough to eat lunch there. Your logic actually makes a lot of sense, but that never really crossed my mind. I'm very interested in seeing how the crowd levels work out for you. That might be a strategy we should consider as well.

Peter Pan sounds like a great first ride! My DH has never ridden that one, so it would be a first for both my boys. :)

No worries! Almost 8,000 views - you're a popular gal! ;)

Have you guys thought about who you are going to rent the crib from? We've done both Orlando Crib rental and a baby's best friend, and while we've had good experiences with both, I'd say the edge goes to a baby's best friend. They used to have cribs that needed to be assembled, but they've upgraded, and now they are all fold out cribs (soooo easy!) I like how they drop the crib at the bell services, and then pick it up from bell services. With Orlando Crib Rentals, they do the delivery and pick up personally, so you need to be waiting around in the room.

The only sticking point is that Orlando Crib Rentals may be more flexible at delivering the crib in the afternoon, so Paxton can nap. I know that A Baby's Best Friend does not guarantee delivery until 6 pm.

I think your plan looks good, especially the afternoon at AK. I think Paxton will love the parade, and I think that your estimation that the crowds will dissipate is spot on! I've heard good things about the last safari of the day, so maybe you can catch that!

Dumbo is a good first ride if you are planning an MK rope drop for your first morning. Although, now with the new play area in the queue it might not be so bad if you had to wait for it for a little while instead of riding it right at opening. I agree with Carla though too, Peter Pan is another great choice. Really, you can't go wrong with most of the things in Fantasyland! Paxton's first ride was HM, so obviously I didn't follow that but it was still a good first ride at his age. :rotfl:

I have seen a bunch of pictures of the AK parade and caught the tail end of it once, and it looks fantastic. But we usually park hop shortly after lunch, and usually spend a couple of mornings in AK, but aren't usually there in the afternoons (which apparently no one else is either!).

I cant see the pics, but your day 2 plans sound great!

Rope drop is a must! I had never done it before until we went in 2010 when I was pregnant for Paxton, and once I saw it I couldn't believe I had been missing out on it all this time. It's fantastic and gets you so ready for a magical day in Magic Kingdom!

The interactive queue for Dumbo looks amazing. Paxton will LOVE it!

I turned 27, and as I teased DH last year (and again this year) we are now in our LATE 20's! :lmao: Man it used to be fun getting a year older when I was a kid, now I dread it.

Maybe one day our trips will overlap! They would be so adorable together.

I'm glad you are giving it another try!!! Your chances of having a much nicer experience just have to be good after the way your last trip ended, right?! He is a December baby, isn't he? That's an amazing time to go.

Apparently I was getting a few too many views on my TR's for Photobucket to handle. :sad2: I'm going to try to upload some pictures to another server today and replace them, but if nothing else, they will be back up on the 5th when my new month starts at photobucket and my bandwith resets.

You can always use tinypic.com

Thanks for the suggestion! I may start there today during Paxton's nap. :surfweb:

I totally agree on the luggage. I know we had to do it on our last day in November and everything was okay. I think as long as we have the suitcases in the trunk, it should be fine because no one will know they are there. Since we have been bringing Paxton along for vacations, we have gotten bigger rentals with more trunk space, so that always helps! And I don't want to wast any of my "extra" Disney time, that's for sure!!

Hopefully my AK plan will work as well as it sounds in my head, and it could work for you too! I know for us, we usually plan a couple of mornings through lunch there, but with it closing so early most days, it's just not usually a good option for hopping to after our break. But with adding going to church in the mix, it seemed like a good idea. Hope I'm right!

Peter Pan sounds like a great first ride! My DH has never ridden that one, so it would be a first for both my boys. :)

No worries! Almost 8,000 views - you're a popular gal! ;)

I have no idea how that happened! As frustrating as it is to have my pictures not working, I guess at least I am a little flattered that so many people are clicking my links!

I was definitely going to look into Baby's Best Friend again. We rented the rocking chair from them last year after I read about them in your TR, and it was a great experience renting from them. It was there when we checked in, but I know that's not always going to be the case. It would definitely be better to rent from them since they do deliver to bell services so we wouldn't have to leave the park to meet them like Orlando Crib Rentals. I guess if it came down to it and the crib was not there when we were ready for Paxton's nap, we could always make do with the bed in the room or get a Pack & Play just for that one time until the crib arrived. Thanks for the info! I didn't even know about Orlando Crib Rentals, so now I can do some research. :thumbsup2

The last safari of the day sounds fun! I know we will still do an early morning at AK and the safari will be the first order of business. It will be neat to compare how active the animals are at the very beginning of the day to how they are at the very end. Hopefully it all works out as well as it sounds on paper!
