Boo to You...and Food & Wine Too! - October 26 to November 2, 2012 Updated Post #282

It's been a while since I have updated the trip report since I been working on my DL trip reports. Now I have some time to respond to the posts and get the next update up.

Great shots of the fireworks. That's one show I'm looking forward to seeing again in October.

Looking forward to the next update.

Thank you PiO. I can't get tired of this show every time I see it. It is a must do at WDW. Ever since I have seen World of Color at DCA, I always wonder which show is better? Illuminations or WoC?

Yummy looking dinner. I'd have picked the prime rib. I just love Illuminations. Your pictures of the show are outstanding! :thumbsup2

Dinner was very nice at the Black Angus restaurant. Thank you TK.

Day 7 – November 1, 2012 – Part 1

On the other day at EPCOT, we were able to go to a lot of different food stands during the Food & Wine Festival and they were all delicious and tasted really well. It was way less crowded on Halloween day than I have thought especially the first day we were at EPCOT where it was really busy. We got to watched Illuminations that night when we came back and everyone (except my DB who have seen it a lot of times just like me) were all amazed by this show. This was by far their favorite nighttime show during our trip. Now this is our last full day in Florida which is the saddest part of the trip.

Once again like the other days in the morning, our aunt was up again cooking breakfast for the two of us. My aunt is a early type person where she like to go to bed late and get up early. It was very nice to have her come with us at the last second for this trip.
After we finished breakfast and clean up the kitchen, we all got dressed and met up with our other members of our group which they are right next door to us at the Sheraton Vistana Resort. We got in our cars and this time we head on over to Universal Studios Orlando which is one of our other things to do. Some of them were excited to go to Universal Studios Orlando but it wasn’t like EPCOT or the other days during the trip.

We got to Universal Studios around 10am and we parked the car in the big parking lot. So we walked on that long journey through the parking lot and then through Universal City Walk.

It was a little busy walking through City Walk and it was a very nice day at the park where it wasn’t that busy around that time.

When we were in the City Walk and about to head to the parks, Uncle S, R, M and Aunt H wanted to go to Universal Studios instead of Islands of Adventure. There were some attractions that they wanted to go instead of IoA. So my aunt, DB and I head on over to IoA while they went over to Universal Studios.

My DB was looking forward to coming back to IoA and see the Wizardy World of Harry Potter. But originally his GF was supposed to come with us during this trip before our aunt came with us at the last second. I knew that he was sad that she didn’t come with us during the trip but he wanted to have a great time at IoA and see WWoHP after seeing it during our December 2011 trip.

We had to buy our tickets at the ticket booths and now we are in IoA.

Every time that I have gone through the turnstiles at IoA that it takes a while for the tickets to be scanned correctly. I have bad experience with the turnstiles at IoA for which this was the third year in a row that I had trouble going through the turnstile.

When we got in the park at Port of Entry the first thing we did was to head on over to the Wizardy World of Harry Potter since that was our main objective of coming to IoA. I would have not gone back to IoA that day and would have gone back to WDW. But I was here for my relatives and I was glad that I was able to come back to WDW during a short time.

We are now passing by Seuss Landing which is really different this time to see it where I have seen it wit the Christmas decorations.

It was not that busy at Seuss Landing where most of the guests are at the WWoHP.

Now entering the Lost Continent

Now we are entering the WWoHP which my aunt and DB are waiting for.

As always when I enter WWoHP, I get as many pictures as I can and it was a little busy that afternoon. I can tell that the Wand shop will have a long line so we are hoping that the line is not that long.

When we got to the Wand Shop queue, the wait time was already that long where it wasn’t even worth waiting.

After passing through the Wand shop, we head on over towards Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey ride where you can see Hogwarts Castle.

The line for HPatFJ was only at 20 minutes but we were not planning on riding it since my aunt would not feel good.
8167918289_cf70031192_c.jpg

So we head on over to Filch’s Emporium store which is so crowded every time we are in it since the exit of the ride is leading to the store.
8167920625_e4c7cb0b69_c.jpg

After looking through the store, my DB bought a scarf for his GF which is very nice of him. I didn’t buy anything at the store since most of the merchandise I have seen are the same after the last few years. I was really disappointed that Universal Orlando has not updated the merchandise at the WWoHP. If they do new merchandise every year like WDW does with their merchandise, I would have bought something during this trip.

We head on out of the store and we head on back towards the center of the town.

When we were in the center of WWoHP, my DB wanted to go on the Dragon Challenge rollercoaster. I really didn’t want to go on the rollercoaster especially since it was a feetless loop rollercoaster. But I agreed to do it just this once that day and we head on the ride while our aunt was waiting in the town until we came back from the ride.
8167962390_4ecd4514d3_c.jpg

I haven’t rode Dragon Challenge in a long time before WWoHp was even formed. It was an old rollercoaster during the early years of IoA. The interesting thing about this roller coaster that it is a duo coaster which are right next to one another.

After finishing Dragon Challenge, I was a little dizzy during the ride and it was nice to go the ride. We met up with our aunt and now it was time for a drink. Oh yeah it was time for a butter beer which we are always looking forward to have one while we are at IoA and the WWoHP.

So we head towards the butterbeer stand truck
8167932451_f0ec5207ff_c.jpg

We ordered a couple of butterbeer drinks that time and we got more later on that day since our other members of our group will like the drink so we brought bottles for the butterbeer.

After getting the butterbeer and putting them in bottles, we started to do more different attractions that day. But I will get to that on another post.

Awesome! Love that butterbeer.

That's an interesting question....WoC or Illuminations. You know....they are so different and I do love both; but I have to say that I love Illuminations because of the fireworks. Who doesn't love fireworks?

It seems like Universal was very busy that day. I'm surprised that they don't change their merchandise more often. I'm wondering if they don't get many repeat visitors.

Is the snow on the WWoHP for the holiday season or is it there all the time?

I'd have to say I prefer illuminations over WOC too. I enjoy both but I agree with PrincessInOz who doesn't like fireworks??

The butterbeer is very nice to have when walking at Islands of Adventure. I wish there was a place that would sell butterbeer instead at IoA and later on at Universal Hollywood in a couple of years.

It is an interesting question for people who have seen both shows in person and I still can't get tired of both shows. I love Illuminations just like you said about the fireworks and of course the LCD Sphere which is so amazing to watch. I liove WoC with the projections on the water as well as those fountains.

Universal was a little busy at the City Walk and towards Islands of Adventure. If Universal changes the merchandise at the Wizardy World of Harry Potter, those returning guests would easily bought it just like me. Ever since I have been to WWoHP, it has been the same thing over the years with maybe a couple of new items that weren't there. I was a repeat visitor during that trip and the only reason I wanted to go back to IoA was to get a butterbeer and for my aunts and uncles to have a great time. I would have spent a day at the Animal Kingdom over IoA.

The snow on the buildings at the WWoHp is there all the time.

Will catch up soon. Love WDW that time of year. Bummed we will not make it this year, but we are visiting Dl instead. I am happy about that.

I love WDW that time of year. That restaurant looks good. The hotel you stayed at is really nice. I love Sheraton. It is the hotel we stay at most. I've never stayed off property at WDW though. Having a rental car would be nice. Crap and I always say we will do that but never have. Cannot wait to read more.

Starting your park date at Epcot is what I want to. The cheese soup from Le Cellier is on my wish list for sure. The Oarty for the Party for Senses looks awesome. I want to do at least one event. I'll look into that one. Glad you got to go to MNSSHP. I want to go this time. Cannot wait to read more.

Nice day at HS. It has been a while since we rode the Great Movie Ride. The line is always too long or there is not enough time to ride with the next item on our agenda. I want to ride it next trip, so I hope we plan the character lines better. It is neat that you can see all of the Osborne lights in place in late October. I will look for them when we go this year. Too bad they will not be lit, because that really is a fantastic sight to see.

Glad to see your group got back in time to get good seats for Fantasmic. Although I agree that the one at Disneyland is better, I prefer to watch at HS. I just like the dedicated seating. We always get Fantasmic Package too, so we do not have to get there too early. I have never dined at Big River. Your food looks good. How did it taste?

The airboat looks cool. I have never done anything like that before. It is neat that there is a place called Christmas in Florida. Like you, I do not think I would be able to hold the alligator even if his mouth was closed with a rubber band. Crap mentioned wanting to see the Kennedy Space Center. It looks pretty neat, so we may have to venture away from Disney on a future trip. You got to peek at the Space Shuttle Atlantis. That is cool, and I know Crap would love that.

I never realized you got to see all of that cool stuff. Learning about the Apollo program would be pretty cool too.

Reliving the Apollo 11 landing must have been super cool. Those uniforms are so neat. I've eaten at the Sante Fe Mining Company. I wonder if it is affiliated with Sante Fe Cattle Company. Glad you made it to MK even though you did not get a preferred spot. You got some great fireworks shots.

I am glad you stayed after for a few minutes to take pictures of the Halloween decorations. They look so cool at night.
