Hi everyone! Just dropping by with a little, itty bitty update!

We still don't have airfare for Oct but hopefully that will be done tomorrow. We're in the process of switching banks and neither DH or I felt comfortable paying for the ticket off of the credit/debit card from the bank account we're closing. Everything, I think, is all up and running with our new account so I should be happily reporting airline details by this time tomorrow!

I'm still working on lists, lists, lists! I have lists for everything! I'll report those soon!

I'm also working on putting together a trip journal/planner for this trip. I can't go fully into it until the kiddos know about the trip. My niece is going home tomorrow so tomorrow night we'll tell the kiddos! I may video tape it

I figured I'd swing by and share a few pictures and a new fun fact with you!

First pictures...

MIL and I took the kids to a local state park beach, on the bay not the ocean, the other day! Here are some pictures from that trip!!

yesterday DH and I took the kiddos to the ocean to checkout the crazy surf due to Hurricane Bill. The pictures didn't come out nearly as good as I had hoped. The seas were a good 15 - 20 feet! Crazy for this area. We couldn't get too close because a huge wave would come in and come 200 feet or so up the beach to where we were standing and then go back out and do the same thing again. In the pictures where you can see people you should know that they kept having to run up the beach to escape getting washed away! I also would have liked to gotten a picture of the surfers but we could get anywhere near the beach the surfer go to

The kids look so cute down by the bay!

Those beach pictures are crazy! The water at all the beaches in Long Island and Staten Island are closed this weekend because of the huge swells...that's crazy! The news said that the under tow (sp?) is just soooo strong, its not even safe for experienced swimmers!

They had a great time! We went to Orient State Park, it was super hot though

Those pics totally don't do it justice! The waves were super crazy!! DH, who is a really good swimmer and was a lifeguard, said there is no way that if someone got sweep out that they could be saved! I would have loved to see the surfers at the beach at Shinnecock Inlet but it was insanely crowded! Not to mention almost all of Dune Road was flooded!

Thanks! We're sooooo excited! We told the kids on monday, that will be in my next update, their so excited too! I'm in planning overdrive mode now

I can't wait to go to Ohana! We've been to Kona, for breakfast and lunch, but never Ohana! I think we'll enjoy it! I think a trip to Poly for the evening will be a great way to start off the trip!

Update, update, update!!!

I'm truthfully not even sure where to start with this! I hope it's not a terrible, confusing jumble when I'm done!

First and foremost, the kiddos know!!!

My niece went home to CT Monday morning to the fanfare of lots of tears on her and Ryan's part. Ryan apparently thought she was his new sister! Poor baby cried "Jessssicccaaaa" halfway home!

When we got home DH took a little break from working for a few minutes to tell them! THey knew we had a big suprise for them but didn't know for sure what it was. DD, in all her intuitive glory, had a feeling.

I asked them what they thought the suprise was DD said "we're going to Disney World" DS6 had no clue and had this wide-eyed, happy, please give me my suprise look on his face! I asked DD what she would think if the surpise wasn't a trip to WDW. She said she would be sad and would cry! I asked DH what he thought the suprise was, even though he already knew, he said "All I know is that we need halloween costumes!" DD looked dumbfounded for a second and DS6 blurted out "We're going to Disney World for Halloween!" Ding, ding, ding! We have a winner!

They're super excited!! They keep asking me 9,000 "Mommy, are we going to..." and 'Mommy, what about..." questions! My head was spinning before and now it's really spinning !!!

After we told them they wanted to know about halloween costumes!!

I had hoped we could all go as a theme. Like from a disney movie! I was leaning toward Peter Pan or Toy Story.

But DS6 is very insistant that he has got to be Mickey Mouse! He's been Mickey a few times for Halloween, including in 06 at MNSSHP. But they don't make a Mickey costume that will fit him now! He was very, very upset by this and decided that I could some how fix the costume he wore in 06 to fit him now. There is no way I can make the costume 3 inches longer! So, I thought long and hard about what to do and worked on convincing him that my theming idea was a very good idea. He wasn't going for mommy's idea

Then while picking up a few toys from the floor for the 50 zillionth time an idea struck me ! I had in my hand a 9 inch stuffed Sorcerer Mickey that we got in Jan!!! He could be Sorcerer Mickey!! He has that light Sorcerer Hat with the Mickey ears from WDW!! I can make him the cape!! Problem solved! More work for me, but hey, he's happy with this solution and I love Sorcerer Mickey!

DS6 wanted me to be Minnie to his Mickey but DD realllly wants to be Minnie! I was able to convince DS6 that this was something he needed to work with me on and DD will now be gracing MNSSHP in this...


I just have to order it!!

So, what about the rest of us?! Not going with my theming idea I was kinda at a loss!

Ryan kept saying "Gee, gee!" Which is is 2 year old way of saying Mickey! I tired to try Johnny's one Mickey costume on him but he would run the opposite direction yelling "No!"

DH already has his Prince Charming costume from 06, although the belt is missing. So, I had another brillant idea DH is going to be Prince Charming , I'm going to be Cinderella and Ryan is going to be Gus!

I have to find a costume for me! I'm leaning toward this one...



But, I'm a little worried about it fitting I'm a little bigger on top (if you know what I mean) then most women and there is a chance it won't zip all the way up! I'm not sure what to do!!!

Ryan is easy because I don't want him to be uncomfortable and unhappy! Being Gus, I think, will be no different then any other day! Brown sweatpants, purchased at Walmart for $4 Tuesday night, a yellow tee, searching for, and a green hat, I will be making out of green felt DH thinks I should give him a little black mouse nose with eyeliner too. I'm not sure if he'll go for that

So, now I have to getting moving on making the things I need to make! I went to walmart the other night in search of red velvety fabric DS's sorcerer cape, gold rope kinda stuff for the belt, black felt for a new belt for Prince Charming and green felt for Guses hat. No luck on any of those! I hate Walmart!!! Now I have to go to Joann's Fabric!! Which, because we live in the boonies, is like 45 minutes from here!! Oh well, it will be a nice little journey to take with the kids one day soon.


Next I needed to worry about airplane tickets!!

I know I said that we are in the process of switching banks and we were going to wait until everything was all set with the new account so we could use that debit/credit card.

I tried Tuesday with the new card and it wouldn't work!!! Are you kidding?! No really, are you kidding?! I was so annoyed and upset!!! How is that possible?! There was more then enough $ so whats going on?!

We called the bank yesterday and it turns out there was a "glitch" and everything is fine now!

So our airfare has finally been purchased! October 29th 8:30 am Islip NY to MCO, November 2nd 3:25 pm MCO to ISP.

Next came changes to my plan!

THe kiddos started talking yesterday about all their most do's! DD mentioned Kali So, I had to tell her I didn't think we'd have time to go to AK this trip because it's short trip. That was met with "But mommy!" OK, I'm flexible! Changes can be made!

Halloween morning, instead of going to Chef Mickeys and heading back to SSR we'll be heading to Donald's Breakfast for a 9:10 am ADR, hitting a few must do's at AK and then heading back to SSR around 1 pm for rest!

Could you take the bodice off the Cindy Costume and just piece out the White Fabric and replace it with different white fabric to give you more bosom room? (doesn't that sound old fashioned...)-it looks like that white patch in the middle could be removed...the ladies at Joanne's could probably give you advice...

You are going to have such fun at the Party...

I'm so happy with the idea of Gus!!! He'll be sooo cute and it so basic that he won't, in is 2 year old mind, know he's wearing a costume. I'm also thinking about making little brown booties to go over his shoes like Gus and Jap wear in the movie. But, he's very particular about his shoes so I'm not sure if it would be a wasted effort!

Thank you so much for the idea on the dress! I sew but I'm not sure I'm talented enough to let out a dress! my fear is that I'll try and completely ruin the dress! But, my mom is coming to visit in few weeks and she's definitely got the ablity to do it! So, I'm going to order the dress, say a little bippidi boppidi boo and hope that the disney magic makes a dress arrive that fits and if it doesn't fit my mom and I can let out it one manor or another!

I've learned in 8 1/2 years of parenting to be flexible when I need to be. I didn't figure an 8 year old crying because she didn't get to ride Kali or a 6 year old crying because he didn't get to play in the Boneyard was much worth it. I mean really, it's a trip to WDW. It's all about family fun and not matter what we'll have fun! Hey, maybe I'll take her on Kali this time instead of DH!

I do have a lot to do but it's all good!!!! I like to busy!! I can't stand sitting idle! I have lists of things I need to do, some of which are done and I'll share in a future update!

I actually have our MNSSHP tickets in hand!!! I ordered them when I made the reservation at SSR and got them the end of last week!! I completely forgot to post that! It was my first bit of mickey mail!
