I was wondering if anyone has ever stayed at Bonnet Creek? Is it close to Disney? Is it really nice?Do I have to take my car everywhere? Thanks for all the help and keep up the good work everyone. I love this website.

BCR is surrounded by Disney property on 3 sides BUT the shuttle service is limited and unlike the DTD hotels you can't walk and take Disney transportation. Plan on using a car or taxis.

It would be too far and there would not be any sidewalks. It would be quite a dangerous walk.

Is it possible to park at one of the resorts and take the Disney bus to the parks. Its not the $9.00 parking fee at the parks I just thought it would be easier then walking across a giant parking lot. Thanks

Once you get to a theme park parking lot and pay the fee to park your car, you can then take Disney transportation from the theme park to, say, a resort for lunch, that type of thing. Free parking is for onsite guests, the transportation system, like the monorail, is for any guests, not just onsite guests. As far as parking at a resort, they all have guards and gates, so you really can't park there unless you have a room reservation or a dining reservation.

Just like AJKMOM stated if you are at the Magic Kingdom you can hop onto the Monorail to Epcot or say take a bus to MGM from the MK, no problem there but you just can't park your car say at the CBR and take the bus to the MK, that is only allowed by the guest staying at that resort.

But i have heard of guess parking at Down town disney and riding the busses into the parks, seems poinless to me, i much prefer to just pay the parking and be able to come and go as i please, if you have a car there your best bet is to just drive yourself to the attended park, we stayed at bonnett creek last sept, very nice resort, close to disney as you can get with out being on a disney resort!!!

adding... if you are worried about parking you car at the disney parks and walking that parking lot, not to worry there are trams that will drop you right at the gates and will pick you up at the ends of the parking rows... not a big deal at all!

I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can't go directly from DTD to a theme park. The only busses I see are to resorts. So, someone might save money, but it would take potentially up to an hour to get from DTD to a theme park.

I will be staying at Bonnet Creek from August 25th until October 6th. After a week-long cruise we will return on October 15th and stay there until January 5th.

I know the Bonnet Creek resort well and use their free transportation daily. Their system works like this:

One signs up the evening before, deciding which (of several) morning buses you wish to take over to the Disney Transportation & Ticket Center. From the TTC you can access Disney transportation to anywhere on property by bus, boat or monorail.

To be picked up by Fairfield's transportation, one just goes to the Fairfield slot at whichever park one exits at the end of the day. Last year there were 3-4 scheduled times from 4pm on at each of the 4 major parks. One gets around to the minor parks (BB/TL/PI/DQ/WWoS) and DTD using Disney transportation just as you would if you were a Disney guest. Fairfield provides transportation TO Disney's TTC and directly BACK to Bonnet Creek from each of the major themeparks (MK/Epcot/MGM and AK)

All holders of any Disney ticket are entitled to use Disney's transportation.

Bonnet Creek is a luxurious resort located adjacent to Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. Pop Century borders the land designated for our golf course. The club house, small lazy river (personal favorite amenity of mine...one can float on a yellow innertube and the current will carry one round at a nice pace...lol such lazy fun...last January I watched a skywriter create messages and happy faces as I relaxed in my tube), miniature golf, separate children's interactive water play area, two bubbling outdoor jacuzzis (every room has an indoor one big enough to share), enormous lovely outdoor pool...lol can you tell I really enjoy this resort!

There's a complimentary welcome party every Monday (maybe it's Sunday, I can't recall for sure) night with wine, soft drinks, nibbles, live music, games and prizes...and a character sketch artist (the sketches do cost money, but only $10...and he's fabulous!)

We do always have a car which makes it easy to get groceries etc. (10-15 minutes or less to Walmart, Publix, CVS, all the chain restaurants/Olive Garden/TGIFridays/Ruby Tuesdays/Krispy Kremes)...but most days I find it convenient to use Fairfield's transportation system in conjunction with Disney's to get to/from the parks.

So you're staying down there for about 4 months? Holy cr*p. Can I be in your family?

I was just reading some of the other threads...and it seems that Bonnet Creek has added complimentary shuttle service beyond what it consisted of last year! I'm pleased to know there is now direct shuttle service to the four major parks in the morning (instead of just to the TTC). Yay!!! Even better choices now for us.

One thing I was confused about...someone in another thread said they couldn't stay for Fantasmic because the Fairfield shuttle left before Fantasmic was finished. It was our experience last year (September 2005 through January 5, 2006) that Bonnet Creek accomodated us at both Epcot (the bus came after Illuminations) and MGM (the bus came after Fantasmic).

I'll find out about this first hand when we arrive later this month.

In order to park at a Disney resort you must be staying at a disney property. Upon check in Disney gives you a parking pass to put on your windshield. It is then checked by the "gate keeper" at disney resorts.
There is no disney transportation from Downtown Disney to theme parks. And busses don't seem to run as often from dd location (in my opinion).

I would bring the car to a theme park, pay the $9 parking fee. Keep your parking pass because if you go to another park that day you do not have to pay again to park. The tram service at the parking lots are constant and will bring you right to the front entrance (with the exception of MK)

If anyone in your party has an annual pass, free parking at the themeparks is included. Otherwise, if you are going to the themeparks using a car, it is $9 a day. If you are going to have breakfast, lunch or dinner at a Disney resort, the gate keeper will give you a 3 hour parking pass to park at the resort during your meal (this allows time for you to enjoy touring the resort as well if you are so inclined).

We always enjoy watching the animals after our breakfast at Boma when we drive there from Bonnet Creek. AK Lodge is probably the farthest Disney resort from Bonnet Creek. MGM is just down the street, not even a mile from the Bonnet Creek entrance. Epcot is also very close (in Disney miles lol)...as is Typhoon Lagoon.

Hi everybody! We have officially changed our Disney trip to June 2007 instead of March because we just don’t have the time to save up the money. Plus, the misses wants to bring her family, which will make the trip cheaper in the long run. We are still going to be staying at Bonnet Creek. Does anybody know if they are going to have everything completed by then? Any help would mean a lot.

We parked at several disney resorts while staying offsite this week. We spent a week at Vistana and we were able to park at the Poly, AKL, BW and POP. We just told them we were there for dining/shopping and received a 3 hour pass.
We are now at OKW for an additional 4 night. The Bonnet Creek Resort is not far from here at all. I was wondering what it was. We've passed it multiple times during this trip. We can't really see the resort itself from the road.....it must be way up the driveway. But it's amazingly close to DD/TL area.
