BONNET CREEK SHUTTLE FEE in effect tomorrow

So far, I have seen ONE anecdotal report on TUG from someone actually staying at WBC NOW who said the following:

We are currently at Bonnet Creek. They are charging $5 per person per ROUND trip on the shuttles. Don't know why RCI would be saying per trip. Not sure how many people are using them but the buses we have seen seem to be pretty empty.
It would be interesting to hear from additional guests at WBC NOW.

I am just concerned that with this new fee, more people are going to be renting cars to avoid it, making finding a parking space harder for those of us that were planning on renting a car anyway. My mom has now decided to go with me and has a handicap tag. I need to be able to park fairly close to our building and am afraid those handicap parking spaces are going to be very hard to get now. We stayed at Westgate Town Center this past Oct/Nov and every day we saw people parked in those handicap parking spots that did not have a handicap tag. One day we had to park at the far side of the lot and as we were walking in, saw a family who was parked in a handicap spot getting into their car. They did not have a handicap tag and we had seen them parked there several days in a row. My mom pointed to the handicap sign and told him that spot was for the handicapped. His response was a shrug and the comment, "this is a private parking lot, so they don't care and won't do anything about it. This spot is too close to pass up and if it's empty, it's ours". We called to report it and guess what? He was right. The next day that same car was parked there again and the two handicap parking spots next to him, also had cars parked there, with no handicap tags.

When my Mom travels with us (she does not have a tag because she doesn't drive and has limited need for it). I pull up let her and the rest of my party out and go park in a non-handicap spot. Not trying to go totally off topic, and I realize I don't know your situation, but it drives me crazy when I see an able bodied person using the tags when the real need is for a member in their party, I would feel horrible if I parked there due to my Mom and a driver with needs didn't have a spot (sorry for being :offtopic: ) When my Mom has needed greater assistance and the rest of our party is not with is I pull up to curb put the flasher on and give her assistance.

then you better not go to WDW - some of those disability are so rude to park their cars - where if you have a wheelchair you can't get back in it.

people who have real disabilities understand that not all wheelchairs come out the back - but lots come out the side - and they need that extra room.

so these people who disregard the needs of others - for their own needs are just plain rude.

Can anyone actually define "able-bodied?" What constitutes a "real disability?" I may appear to be able-bodied, but I'm not, and my disability is very real, so I would appreciate not being judged if I park in the disabled parking spot.
