The management of Bonnet Creek has finally formally announced the details of the new shuttle fee at Wyndham Bonnet Creek, via a letter delivered to all guests last night. Here is the gist of the letter:

"To Our Valued Owners and Guests:

Based on owner feedback, the Bonnet Creek Homeowners Association will modify its transportation fee to a $5 per person/per round trip fee for ALL guests, regardless of ownership. Children 3 and under will ride free. The fee which goes into effect on March 2, 2013, covers the cost of providing shuttle transportation to and from Walt Disney World® theme parks."

Tickets can be purchased from the Front Desk, Activities Desk, or Concierge Desk.

it is still better than the Hilton - their fee was $12 per person per ride to WDW or US.

you could walk to Seaworld

So does that mean everyone pays the fee or only those people using the shuttle pay?

Only those using the service will pay. You will buy your Tickets at the front desk.

That's correct -- only those using the shuttle service. Still...if you have several kids, it will be expensive.

they got too many complaints - so they changed it.

Since very few guests staying at WBC even used the bus - it was decided that bus should pay it own way.
I disagree, lots of guests used the shuttle. We did not use them much, but the few times we did they were often filled to the gills.

The new fee is certainly an incentive for people to drive instead, which means the bus may not be around much longer.

Is this a per use fee? If you use the shuttle one or two times, do you just pay for those trips or do you pay by your length of stay?

$5 per person, per round trip. No fee when you don't use the shuttle.

I bet very soon you will get free shuttle use for going to a timeshare presentation.

More cars would equal ... possibility of need of additional parking spaces / overflow parking lot.

Thanks, it's good to know we can use it on an "as needed" basis.

This fee really bothers me. We booked thinking it was $12 per unit and I was ok with that. Then it was $5 per person per day and that too was ok. However, we have 2 small children, age 3 and 4. This means that if we go back to the resort in the late afternoon for naps/rest and return to the park in the evening for fireworks or parade, we pay again. $15 there and $15 again is crazy. I am not paying $30 per day in shuttle fees. I think there will be a lot of empty shuttles in the afternoon. It should be per day. What were they thinking? I feel like it was false advertising that we reserved at $12 per day, then $5 per person per day and now it's per round trip.

You didn't book directly through Wyndham so it's not false advertising, VS could only pass along info as they got it.

If you plan to go back and forth a couple times each day---or even most days---you really ought to think about getting a rental car. It will be *much* more convenient than relying on the shuttles, even if the latter were free.

Not surprisingly, there has been a lot of confusion about the fee. It was initially rumored, then officially announced, to be $12 per unit per day for every unit whether or not the shuttle was used by the guest. That met with loud resistance and was reversed. Then, there was a rumor of $5 per person, with rumors saying both per day and per trip. The official announcement said per trip for those using the shuttle, and that's where it stands today.
What were they thinking?
The fee was imposed by the WBC homeowners association, apparently in an attempt to defray expenses which come out of their annual maintenance fees.

Depends of who you reserved through. If you reserved through Wyndham directly, I think you have a point and I would confront them about the change from what you agreed to pay. Even though the fee was determined by the HOA, Wyndham might make it right.

If you rented from a Wyndham owner -- either directly or through a service -- I would take the issue up with them, because Wyndham has nothing to do with what they charge or promise their customers.

I am not upset with VS and should have worded it differently. I am annoyed with Wyndham for not being more clear about these fees so that owners/brokers could pass on the info correctly. I think it's unfortunate.

Gonna post this here as well to hopefully help some folks out. It's cheaper to rent a vehicle and free's you up. BTW.....I was a BIG advocate from the shuttle service until they decided to charge $5 per round trip.

We are getting a rental car. I loved using the shuttle service last year but
with 4 people that's an extra $20 per day so at least $100 for our 8 day stay.
Factor in $150 for trasportation to and from the airport then it's cheaper
to just rent. It's a shame but it will actually free us up to do other things
since we will have a vehicle now. $179 for full size 8 day rental thru Dollar.
