hey i was just wondering when the new bonnet creek resort is going to open, if anyone knows reply back  :thewave:

Fairfield is taking reservations for stays beginning in June for their members.

I heard it is having the official opening on June 1.

We are going to be there for the last three days of our vacation and we can't wait! Just trying to find out if they have ironed out all of the wrinkles yet!

Thank you!!!!

OHGosh I swear I KNEW I saw signs for this the last few times I was there and I called WDW to ask about if this is a new resort or what because I see construction there and was inquiring about it.

EVERYTIME I was told there is no such thing and they had no idea what I was talking about.

Now I know I am not looney! :upsidedow

Now that the subject has been brought up, is this a Disney owned hotel or another company like those that own Swan an Dolphin? And is it deluxe? Any info would be fantastic!!

The reason you could not get information from WDW is that this is a Fairfield timeshare operation, located adjacent to (actually surrounded by) Disney-owned property. It is located on a parcel of land that Disney was not able to purchase at the time the original WDW land was assembled.

So, it is not a hotel at all, although as a timeshare it will undoubtedly also have space available for rent when timeshare owners have not booked everything. It will not have the access to Disney transportation like the Swan and Dolphin enjoy. Rather, it will likely provide its own transportation to/from the parks similar to the hotels in the Downtown Disney area.

The Fairfield timeshare is the first of a number of different lodging options planned for the site. The developer expects to have one or more conventional hotels in the future, but that could be years down the road.

Are they on the golf courses?

One of the best features of those courses is that they're away from everything.

You probably got connected with a call center in Tampa... and since it's not a Disney resort, or on Disney property, they'd know nothing about its existance.

Despite the name, the location is not at all close to the golf courses. The golf courses are named for the creek, not the other way around, and the creek flows southward out of Bay Lake past the two golf courses (Osprey Ridge and Eagle Pines) and continues parallel to Bonnet Creek Parkway. The Parkway is the roadway that runs along the west side of Old Key West.

Here is a link to an earlier thread on the DVC Forum about Bonnet Creek Resort .
