Hello,

I currently have a reservation at Caribe Royale from August 27-Sept 2, 2011. I have been reading great things on this board about Bonnet Creek and posted yesterday about trying to get the cheaper rate once I'm within the 60 day window, which sounds like I have a pretty good chance of getting. Now I'm confused over which place to say- they both sound great - but I saw some recent not too great reviews on Trip Advisor for Bonnet Creek. Any opitions on one over the other? Thanks!

Well although we have not stayed at WBC yet, our trip is in Aug., we did stay at Caribe Royale for one night befor checking into the Poly on our last trip. We had gotten a deal on priceline for about $75 a night. It was nice for 1 night, but I would not want to spend my whole vacation there. Absolutly no magical feelilng at all, I didn't even feel like I was on a Disney World vacation. Our room felt very closed in, only one window which was in the bedroom. None in the living area. The room was laid out just like an Embassy Suites room, if you have ever been to one. Also no balcony. At least WBC is on Disney property and you don't have to enter back into the "real world" for your entire trip. This makes a huge difference to me. I am really going to miss the Poly, but I am looking forward to the lazy river in the Aug heat. The pool at Caribe Royale was nice, the kids enjoyed the slide. But it was nothing special. There are some neg reports of WBC out there, but they are far out numbered by many many positive reports I have read. If you look, you can find negitive reports on anything, even the Poly which I love. I am trusting all the friends on this board and hoping for a fabulous trip at WBC!

Hi DebT1964,
I got to thinking about my response to your thread, and I am sorry if I sounded negative about Caribe Royale. If you end up there, I am sure your family would have a great time. I just tend to be a little spoiled when it comes to resorts. I think if you compare the location and the room size you can't beat WBC. Our room at Caribe Royale did not have a balcony, but maybe some do. I just know there is nothing worse than to be looking forward to something and than having someone rain on your parade. I hope you have a wonderful trip!

thanks for the information - I'm glad you shared your honest opinion. The last 2 times we've been at Disney, we stated at the Beach Club, so I don't feel like anything can top that. I really want to find the best off site place I can - Bonnet Creek sounds like it definitely has way more room - and we need that (me, DH, DD-18, DS-13, DD-9) also great with all of the pools and mini golf, etc....now I'm leaning that way....I just want to make the best decision! :)

My vote goes to Bonnet Creek!
1. it has a better location
2. spacious villas
3. great huge pools, lazy river and slides
4. has lots of things for the kids to do
5. free shuttle to parks
6. ...
7. ...

Read reviews on TripAdvisor.com... very helpful : )
