Bones found in water around Aruba

A couple looking at their recent vacation photos found that some taken underwater show what looks like human bones & skull. There is speculation that it may be Natalie Holloway.

Hopefully it can answer questions and give some closure for her loved ones if it is her.

Yes, please let this be over. Joran van der Sloot was caught on video tape, 11 days after cremating his father, (who used to keep him in line,) and was bragging once again that he was with Natalee when she died. The tape was on Nancy Grace. And the Aruban police still haven't put him away.

At least, if Beth Halloway is able to get Natalee's body back, maybe she can finally rest easier.

I'm not sure if it is a skeleton. I just keep thinking that if she was dumped (likely) her body may have been carried in the currents somewhere else. Unless she was weighted down.

Maybe they were just reviewing them. Sometimes I review pictures, look at them closer, months after they were taken from things like vacations...where I take a ton of pictures.

Same here. I can take thousands of pictures on vacation; it takes a LONG time to get through them all, sometimes months if I have a lot of other stuff going on.

living in alabama and getting my news from birmingham (natalee's hometown), this has been ALL over the news today, as her disappearance was almost 5 years ago. i pray her mother, beth, can finally get closure and peace, whether the photo is a clue or not.

I'm not seeing a skeleton

I see what looks like a skull & jawbone & maybe teeth. Pushing it, I can come up with a body below that - even a pelvis - but I don't think they would still be together in the correct formation.

So I'm assuming I'm seeing a skull & jawbone next to some rocks.

One of the reports in the links Agnes! helpfully posted says that Patti Muldowney shot this photo while snorkeling. That strongly suggests that whatever is in the photo is not in very deep water (likely less than 20 feet). That is interesting because most of the theories that suspect Natalie was dropped into the sea assume that would have been done far off shore in open (ergo, deep) water.

Silent, per your point I also suspect that given the photo is now "out" we will soon see versions that have been run through high end enhancement software. That will quickly make it clearer as to whether what looks various bones on the left indeed are.

I don't see any of that stuff.

I think what everyone is calling a skull is a rock. Skulls don't end abruptly in a straight line, they curve under in the back and it has to be the back seeing as there are no orbits.

As for the jaw bone which I'm assuming is what is thought to be laying at the base of the skull..It's too thick and is backwards.

I'm afraid everyone is getting worked up over some rocks on the ocean floor.

Oh great. Now, whatever was there probably has disintegrated or has been washed away by now. I hope this doesn't turn out to be another wild goose chase for poor Beth. She doesn't need this, if it turns out to be nothing there any more.
