Watched Bon Jovi at the City of Manchester Stadium yesterday. Always liked Bon Jovi, but only got exposed fully to their twenty-odd year history when I met Amanda, who's been to every tour for the last 10 years or so.
We had 'gold circle' tickets (the pit) but, this area was split in two, by a walkway circling out from the stage some 30 yards or so. The front part held 1500, and the rear 2500, with allocation to GC ticket holders on a first come, first served basis. We queued from 200pm and were in the first 500 or so I reckon.. gates were supposed to opn at 3, and at 3 there was an almighty scrum (no crowd control of any sort0 and everyone lost their places!
It wasn't really sorted, and the gates didn't open til 430 or so, but we still got 'front pit' wrsitbands.
This area was fantastic... there was room for many more in here, whereas the back section, (the other side of the walkway) and the rest of the pitch, here chocker!
Local group on first, Gekko(?).. from Chorley.. not bad! Then Nickelback... very good!
Bon Jovi came on 815ish and played 2.5 hours straight... I spotted a guy handing wristbands out and walked over.. stage passes! Can I have a couple? sez me.. Well, he says, I'm supposed to pick women, and you don't seem to fit the profile but **** it, I can't be ar*ed, here you go! So we got in a group of a dozen or so on stage for 3 numbers in the middle of the performance! Absolutely brilliant! Was amazing looking down on the 60,000 crowd.... shook hands with Richie Sambora, high-fived Jon, and Amanda managed to grab a feel of his bum... everyone happy then!
Great day!

I think we are queuing at about 10am
