Bombshell Obama Pastor Video

Yes, I would like to see numbers of people who would have voted for Obama but now won't.

Not much of a change, I suspect. I'm still waiting for the thunder of protest from all the prominent Capitol Hill and WH Republicans to swoop down on Obama. You'd think it would have happened by now. ;) Isn't it interesting that the only people getting tied in knots over this are a few pundits and radio personalities.

Except, you aren't seeing the big picture. The Reps aren't going to vote for Obama anyway. But if he gets the nomination, the Hillary supporters will now be faced with a more difficult choice. And believe me, whoever winds up with the nomination is going to have their closets emptied of skeletons....let's pray there is nothing worse buried in Obama's.

I have my own theories as to what is going to happen. Suffice to say, at this point, I don't think either Clinton or Obama will get the nomination. At this moment, I'm leaning towards they've both had their chance, they've both made their case, and they've both come up short. IMO, the real job of the SD's is about to start.

Just a gut feeling that may be the result of the beef and bean burrito I had for lunch. ;)

I didn't have that burrito, but I agree with your outlook.... Once again the Democratic party had it's chance and lost it's chance.... they will never have a better chance than they had.

LuvDuke, I'm cross posting this to the Obama thread so I can finish my thought so as not to offend...

Hey, I'm still up for a Biden/Edwards ticket! :goodvibes

I think the chances are better than ever. The country is now focused and the primaries have done their job which is to vet various candidates.

And, yes, to whoever wanted to know why Obama wasn't vetted, that is why there are things like primaries.

My gut tells me there's going to be some very interesting developments in the next few weeks that will have a tremendous impact on the November election.

If you look at today's poll's, neither candidate beats McCain, so there you have it.... the developments would have to be very big indeed to right this ship....

Again, look at the big picture. Of course, Hillary supporters at this point in time are not going to answer a poll that they think Obama will win against McCain, the same is true of the Obama supporters if asked about Hillary vs. McCain.

After the nominee is finally named by the Super Delegates, then ask who'll the people will vote for. Chances are most dems will vote for the Democrat. Polls are easily swayed by the simple way a poll is asked, when it is asked and by who participates.

Well if Obama wins the nomination, the anti-american stuff will hurt him some and his anti-second amendment record will bury him in red states. Unlike Kerry, who pretended to hunt, to garner support from middle America, Obama has voted to curtail a person's right to even be allowed to purchase a gun.

Like many Democrats, my candidate wasn't Obama or Clinton. I liked Edwards, but I would've been happy with Biden, Richardson, or Dodd. I think Clinton and Obama have had their chance. Will Demcrats vote for them if they're the nominee? Absolutely, but you can't win with just Democrats alone. And that's where the SD's step in.

This is just my gut feeling.

Obama invokes RFK in distancing self from pastor

by John McCormick

PLAINFIELD, Ind. – Sen. Barack Obama invoked Robert F. Kennedy on Saturday as he continued to try to distance himself from controversial statements made by his former pastor that are now widely circulating on the Internet.

"Bobby Kennedy gave one of his most famous speeches on a dark night in Indianapolis, right after Dr. King was shot," Obama said. "He stood on top of a car."

In reality, Kennedy, speaking in nearby Indianapolis on the night of April 4, 1968, spoke from the bed of a flatbed truck.

"He delivered the news that Dr. King had been shot and killed," Obama continued. "At the moment of anguish, he said we've got a choice. We've got a choice in taking the rage and bitterness and disappointment and letting it fester and dividing us further so that we no longer see each other as Americans, but we see each other as separate and apart and at odds with each other. Or, we could take a different path that says we have different stories, but we have common dreams and common hopes….I think about those words often, especially in the last several weeks because this campaign started on the basis that we are one America."

Saying "the forces of division have started to raise their ugly heads again," Obama began to point to his own former pastor from Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's South Side.

"Most recently, you heard some statements from former pastor that were incendiary and I completely reject, although I knew him and know him as somebody at my church who talked to me about Jesus," Obama said. "But if all I knew was those statements that I saw on television, I would be shocked. And it just reminds me that, you know, we've got a tragic history when it comes to race in this country. We've got a lot of pent up anger and bitterness and misunderstanding. But what I continue to believe in is that this country wants to move beyond these kinds of divisions. This country wants something different."

Obama told his audience in a high school gymnasium that he is someone who "has little pieces of America all in me." He suggested that controversies over his and other campaign surrogates could harm a more serious debate.

"I will not allow us to lose this moment," he said. "When people say things like my former pastor said, you know, you have to speak out forcefully against them. But what you also have to do, though, is remember what Bobby Kennedy said that it is within our power to join together to truly make a United States of America."

Even if we believe Obama that he did not hear any of the pastor's lunatic views (which I don't think is possible), the pastor had a reputation for having these types of views.

For Obama to pretend that he did not know of the man's reputation is just an insult to the American public's intelligence.

Plus, his spiritual advisor and mentor is INSANE! Not just a little insane, but a full-blown wack job. What kind of judgment does that show?

That's exactly how I feel. He was not ignorant of all those things, and to attempt to claim so at this point is just not believable. He has no credibility in my opinion. I never intended to vote for him. However, you can disagree with a person's policies, but still believe in the sincerity of their words. I don't trust him now.

This stuff is nothing new....what bothers me is that, just like Al Gore, we have lost John Edwards.

The writing is on the wall, but seems that few people read it. They hop on the first YEE HAW wagon that goes by no matter what its destination.

Oh, and thank you to those who voted for Bush the 1st time and were dumb enough to vote for him a second time. When was that 100 zillion dollars ago?
And thank to those of you that put Obama on the President to be pedestal.

:surfweb:

I feel exactly the same way.

1. How in the world could anyone have voted for Bush in 04'? &
2. How in the world could Obama get 6-8 months into this process before any real vetting taking place.
3. Edwards had the passion, the vetting & didn't bore us to tears with his non-specific kumbaya rhetoric.

Prior to the primaries, i suspected BO was a lightweight. Now I think he is talented..... but is too flawed to compete with McCain & is definitely not ready for prime time.

.

This video still doesn't negate the racist stuff he's said.

It does not negate the negative stuff, but perhaps the negative stuff is not what was pervasive of the Church's doctrine... but again, cherry picked from 10,000 hours... and just perhaps Obama did not hear those sermon's... just maybe... I thought I heard him say that he had heard one.

Here is the new pastor, I could find him inspirational at this level.

I watched him interviewed last night, he's very charismatic, and I think his message is one that the current generation would be more inclined to hear.

Wait till the commercials begin.

- Cue in to Obama uttering (at some point in the campaign) "My Moral Compass".
- Cut to 20 seconds of Reverand Jeremiah.
- Fade to "Vote for HC".

This should play interestingly in Allentown, Erie, Scranton etc. etc. etc.

It isn't a "race" thing. It's a "spritual advisor" thing.

Rezko's role bigger than admitted

"
Barack Obama on Friday acknowledged that he had substantially underrepresented the cash raised for his earlier campaigns by indicted businessman Antoin “Tony” Rezko.

But Obama's campaign said it could not donate to charity as much as $90,000 in newly acknowledged Rezko-linked contributions because the old campaign accounts were closed and the money spent

Obama's acknowledgment that Rezko raised as much as $250,000 for earlier campaigns, initially made in an interview with The Chicago Tribune and confirmed later to Politico, came after a year-and-a-half-long trickle of admissions about Rezko’s fundraising role and more than a month after Obama’s aides contended that they had identified and jettisoned all Rezko-linked cash. It also came as Rezko’s trial on corruption charges, underway in Chicago, brought increased scrutiny of Obama’s ties to the real estate developer, fast-food magnate and political insider.

Days ago, Politico asked the campaign for a detailed list of the $157,835 in Rezko-linked contributions it said it had donated to charity.

The campaign attributed only $85,185 of that to a list of specific donations from Rezko and 16 associates, declining to attribute the rest because it told Politico it didn’t want to subject other contributors “to any suspicion of wrongdoing or embarrassment.”
......"

THIS GOES ON FOR 3 PAGES!:sad2:

Hmm, I'm not so sure about Hillary wanting to exploit this, but I have no doubt the RNC is already at work. Of course, having some legitimate powerful Republicans condemning Obama would help them. However, they seem to be nowhere in sight and they obviously don't feel this is the nuclear hit some of the 30%ers and the conservative pundits want it to be.
