I keep reading all of these great things about Boma's so I made an ADR for 8pm on the day we are going to be at AK...it sounded like that was the earliest I could get for a party of seven since I was calling only 6 weeks in advance.

AK is open until 8 the night we are going and we will most likely be there all day since we have an 8 am ADR at Donald's breakfast.

My question is do you think there will be enough for us to do all day at AK until we need to leave for Boma's? Also, what time should I plan on leaving AK to get to Boma's? We are staying offsite so we will have our own car.

Also, is it the food or the atmosphere that is so great...it sounds like both...I'm hoping my kids will enjoly it after a long day at the park.

So many questions...I know, but thanks for any info you can provide. :goodvibes

I think you will have just the right amount of time to see and do everything. Also...even if you don't get to do or see everything at AK...I would still leave early enough to not get caught in the bumper to bumper parking lot at closing time. Also, go over to the AKL early....there are plenty of things you can do before your reservations at Boma. They have great areas for you to sit and watch the wildlife there along with the million dollar collection of African artwork in the lobby. For ADR...they recommend that you arrive 15-20 minutes before your seating time.

My family of 8 will be there next week...after a long day at AK ourselves. Can't wait!!!

We will be arriving at AKL this Friday:goodvibes and we love Boma. I think I would leave about 45 minutes to and hour to get to Boma on time. This will give you some extra time just in case and there are a lot of neat things to look at. The savannahs are unbelievable and you may even catch the African storyteller. My DD is 8 and she loves this resort and Boma. We will be eating both dinner and breakfast there this trip.

I agree with the PP's. There's so much to see at AKL that it's worth it to get there a bit early. Also, it's a great place to relax, unwind and cool off after a full day in the park. We usually just sit in the lobby and people watch or get a drink and walk out to look at one of the savannahs.

Leaving the park about an hour before closing should be plenty of time. The drive takes about 5 minutes. AKL is a great resort to wander around or have a drink in. Beautiful lobby and of course more animals! :thumbsup2

Thanks everyone! I will definitley make sure that we leave early enough to check out AKL.
