Boma

Our party of 6 ate at Boma 2 nights ago and whilst everyone enjoyed the food (we too had an 'only chicken' eater with us), we were disappointed in the experience. We have previously loved it but the lights were up very bright and it was chilly. Combined with the noise (and unusually it was half empty at 7.15 pm!) it felt like a canteen environment.

I've eaten there many times but I'm giving it a miss for a while because the atmosphere was missing even though the food was good.

We LOVED Boma, including our young children. My husband is a chef so our children are very good eaters and every experimental which makes dining a joy for us.

They do have a section with fried and macaroni cheese (my children turned their noses up here!).

The salad section covers all sorts of flavours and tastes including Cous Cous, pasta and they have variety of soups.

However, I don't think you will be able to get a 'plain' bit of chicken (although the beef was delicious and not spicy).

If you were on the Dining Plan and others in your group are open to a variety of tastes it may be worth checking out.T

If you are paying out of pocket and others are not soe keen I would suggest that the 'Flavours of Africa' buffet is probably not for you.
OMG thats me!! dh was a head chef and my kids will eat anything!
i totally agree with you comments to, though i think if you called and requested it you would be able to get some "plain" chicken

We have booked xmas diner here, but I am celiac and can't eat gluten- whats my chances of finding food here?

my wife and i ate at tusker house this past spring. we have reservations for Boma on our next trip in feb 2010. we loved tusker house. how much different is Boma's and how do they compare? would love to get your imput!

we did both (TH and Boma) for bfast and found the food to be v similar, atmosphere was alot calmer due to lack of characters, but i would recommend both...
boma for dinner (we ate v early 5ish) was fab, yes its a large dining room, but no bigger than others CP etc, and we enjoyed it v much.
as for the question on celiacs - dont worry, have you allergies noted on your adr and the chef will come to your table and "walk" you along the buffet telling you what you can and cant eat...
if you want anything specila, pre order and they ll do it for you. the chefs at wdw are outstanding on dealing with allergies (i am severly allergic to onions and onion powder:scared1:, which is in loads of stuff, all my food was cooked fresh to avoid contamination, at boma i was served soooo much stuff it was obsene, even after my 3 kids "helped" me to eat it:thumbsup2
i so badly wanted hummous they made me some fresh without onions:goodvibes.
