Boma

Well, we loved breakfast and dinner. IMHO the Boma breakfast buffet is the best buffet on Disney property. Everything is fresh, replenished often and the variety is plentiful.

Dinner is a matter of personal taste. I am somewhat a picky eater. I went to Boma Dinner Buffet with an open mind and I was not disappointed. I tried many things I had never even thought of trying before and I have to say I liked almost everything I tried (except couscous). Many dishes on the buffet were too sweet for my husband. He loves soups of all kinds, he said each one of the soups was too sweet for him. When they say spicy they mean cinnamon, nutmeg and other sweet spices, not hot and spicy. I did try the African sausage and lentil stew which was very good. The meats were very good (the ribs especially). I think they had two potato dishes, one was sweet potatoes which I did not eat, the other was potatoes with Affritude which were somewhat blah. Many salads, but none with traditional dressings, the dressings were all sweet and fruity. For the life of me I can't remember the vegetables but they must have had them, they must not have made an impression. Now DGS who is 9 years old and the most picky eater ever said the buffet was wonderful. He loved the kids choices. I think they had chicken nuggets, french fries, mac and cheese, you get the idea.
The dessets were very plentiful and good. Of course Zebra Domes never disappoint.

If you like to be adventurous try Boma for dinner. If you are more a meat and potatoes kind of person I would say stick with breakfast.

We're thinking of staying at AKL for our next trip...so maybe we should do both, breakfast and dinner.
What are zebra domes?

We've done both before and both are good. Hard choice but I probably go with dinner.

I am so glad that you posted this. I have wanted to try Bomz forever..now I am not so sure. I love savory dishes and I love spicy. But sweet or spicy, as in cinnamon, I do not care for. Now I am rethinking this.

I've only had breakfast and it was fabulous - we're going for dinner this trip though! :thumbsup2

we ate breakfast and dinner...my husband and I prefer Breakfast at BOMA. We are glad we tried dinner but when we visit Disney next time we will only go there for Breakfast...dinner time I only liked the dessert selection.

Zebra domes. a little cake on the bottom, chocolate mousse in the middle, chocolate & white chocolate on the top. The mousse is flavored with a hint of coffee and amurula liquor (an African liquor). Love the chocolate mousse crunch too!

We've tried both breakfast and dinner at Boma. Our personal preference is dinner...breakfast was fairly typical buffet fair. Maybe our expectations were too high for breakfast as we love dinner and hoped for a more adventurous menu in the am.

We have only done breakfast and thought it was wonderful. My mom isn't adventurous to try dinner.

Haven't done Boma dinner as I am not an adventurous eater but breakfast was lovely. Lots of fruit and everything looked fresh, not like it has been sat there for hours keeping warm. Would happily do Boma breakfast again.

We've done both and both are great; I would probably pick breakfast. But you can't go wrong doing either.

We love breakfast at Boma, do not care for dinner at all.

We did breakfast last year and it was one of the best meals we had ever had on property. Not being very adventurous, I have not tried dinner. We found the breakfast had a huge variety of "american" items and the fresh fruit was great. We liked the hotel so much we booked our stay there for this year when they had stay 4 get 3 free - it was a bargain! I would definitely say breakfast but you could always try dinner too!

We went for dinner in Sept 2008 and it was amazing!

Loved the zerba domes-for those who crave them you can also get them in the Mara.
Loved the different Africian foods. They had hummus with different favors- which is my favorite!
MUST TRY the butternut squash soup - it is out of this world. It taste just like pumpkin pie. It too is also sold in the Mara.

There are some many things to pick from that even a picky eater should not have an issue eating there.

Go you will love it!
