Boma is a wonderful buffet, and you will have the oportunity to enjoy the fantastic lobby of the AKL while waiting for your table, the food is with food for all tastes, you can get a prime rib or chicken fingers, and you can get african style food and the desserts are fantastic, go and you will enjoy the food and the ambiance.:cool1:

We will be doing both next month but on our anniversary we will be at BOMA!! My family LOVES it there. I have one 19 yr old DS who is very fussy but loves eating at BOMA. Have a great time!!:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2

Boma's a great restaurant. I love a dish that served there called Bobotie. It's so good that I've looked up the recipe and have made it several times at home. Also, boma is home to the famed zebra domes! I actually have a ressie for there for the first night of my next trip which is tuesday!!! yippee.

Boma is one of our favorites and there is something for everyone, even with the African dishes. If I remember correctly there is some standard fare such as prime rib, macarroni and cheese, salad bar, french fries, fruit. The desserts are wonderful too. The paw print brownies are awesome. We mentioned several dishes that we liked to our server and he brought us the recipes. We also did breakfast and it had more American type food, but still had some African items too. It is such a beautiful place as soon as you enter the lobby. Enjoy!

We tried Boma for the first time last Sept. it is now our favorite for both breakfast and dinner. There is something for everyone.

We don't go to Boma anymore. Because we got Boma-ed out one year. Ate there five times in 365 days. Nah, we don't like it. It's just a place I take all newbies to Disney World. A place I've taken all of my family.

There are some African dishes on there but what I would advise is that you don't pay attention to the NAMES of things. My husband was doing that until a vegetarian friend (he isn't a fan of vegetables) started bringing him back foods for his to taste. Then she told him the names after he said they were good.

Oh - and combine two of the different salad dressings. Really good that way. Enough for me to get concerned my son was going to turn into a rabbit.

Oh again - get a dessert every time you go to the buffet. Otherwise, you'll be too full at the end to enjoy them.

It is an "African themed" restaurant, not an African restaurant. There is a variety of food that appeals to a wide range of palates, but nothing is too adventurous. It is not as exotic as Ethiopian food, for example. And I can't think of anything that is spicy hot, unless you add some of the side sauces.

It is very different by WDW standards, but it is also a Disneyfied version of African cuisine. Almost anybody can find plenty to enjoy. But don't plan a trip to Africa looking for some of the favorites (e.g., the zebra domes) -- they are more AKL than African.

I love bobotie!!! It reminds me of pastitsio, which is a Greek dish served in some diners in NY. Pastitsio has a similar topping and it has ground meat in it, but it has ziti on the bottom instead of whatever bobotie has on the bottom.

After our last trip, Boma is my favorite restaurant!! As people have mentioned, the Zebra domes are GREAT, and the regular buffet definitely has something for everyone. Just go with an open mind and try a little bit of everything. The selection varies from day to day, but if they have the Coconut rice I highly recommend it!

Bring an empty stomach too :thumbsup2

I LOVE IT!!!! Definitely my favourite WDW restaurant, lots of ordinary cooked meats, a kids station, soups, the hoummus was to die for, the salads were lovely and just a little different, lots of standard fruit, lots of stews/casseroles. A real 50/50 between african food and American standards.

The real star attraction is the desserts, a very chocolatey mousse, the zebra domes which are like chocolate mousse covered in white chocolate, little fruit tarts and my favourite which was like a coconut tart. Can't wait to return.

We tried it for the first time in March and we loved it, we went twice on our trip. It was great. Love those zebra domes (although, these are also available at Mara)!!

Got three breakfasts and two dinners booked for our visit in May/June :) The breakfast and eggs to order is great and such a selection of fruit and pastry items. Dinner is wonderful with the carved meats and soups to die for.

Claire ;)
