I like to try new foods and all of that, however, I've heard mixed reviews about Boma. Some people swear it's the best while others say it's the worst.

I have an ADR for here, but my gut instinct is telling me no......

Please give me YOUR thoughts......

we really enjoy this place... alot of the food has unique names to them but they really aren't that crazy if you see the ingredients. The soups are wonderful.... loved the pumpkin..... and the side dishes are creative. The meats are pretty normal although there are sauces you can put on them to spice them up some... and the desserts are pretty good as well. I like having the wide variety of choices. We also have reservations there next month.... will let you know if it changes.....

its a buffet your bound to find something you like and theres lots of different stuff there to try/sample.we love it a go everytime even when we're not staying at akl.yhanks daveb

I shall be the dissenting diner. We went, we tried, we're never doing it again. It was the worst meal we had on our vacation. We are not shy in trying different foods and some of the foods that we do eat probably make some people squeamish...however, BOMA was not for us. They used a certain spice that all of us hated and it was in practically everything there. That pretty much sealed it for us. I ended up eating the flat bread and hummus spreads after attempting everything else. Pretty pricey hummus. I did like dessert though. The zebra thingies were quite tasty.

I don't know if it was just an off day or what but judging from our first experience, it was our last.

We have only been to Boma for the breakfast buffet, but we LOVE it. I now recommend it to everyone. There are plenty of everyday breakfast items like muffins, omelets, ham etc. But they also have a lot of neat unique things that are fun to try, and you never know, you might like them even better! Everyone I have recommended this restaurant to has loved it as well, so I say give it a try!

We love it and always find something new to try each visit. I think it really helps if you have a good server who's knowledgeable. Ask your server about the foods or the chefs behind the buffet. We learned so much on our first visit, the foods surprised me by having a very Greek/Mediterranean taste and our server explained that there is a large Greek population in S Africa.

As I said, we love it and have gone each of our last 3 trips :goodvibes

I loved it - DH hated it but he is a mainstream don't give me anything too different kinda guy. DD and DS enjoyed it too. I think there are different things to try but enough recognizable food that you should be fine. Our server gave great wine advice as well. I would definitely go again and the only reason it's not on our list for Nov is that we want to try places we haven't been yet. If you like middle eastern type food then this will be a nice twist on that. If you don't then you may want to skip it. HTH!

This is true of every restaurant at WDW. Name a restaurant and there willbe some people who love it and some people who hate it. If you have never been to Boma, you owe it to yourself to go once to decide for yourself.

I think you will find many foods or spices you would not normally eat. But there should be a few mainstream dishes that you would like. I like to try new things, especially food. I think most people could go and have a good meal

It is my favorite place. If it all looks to bizare you don't have to eat what on the buffett. The first thing our server asked when we sat down was if anyone had any special diets or food allergies. If we did she would send one of the chefs right out and they would fix us something special.

I LOVE BOMA!!!! It is the one place I will always go to no matter what! I am considering booking a future trip at AKL...not because of the animals, but because of BOMA!!

The herb crusted prime rib is AMAZING! And of course, there are the Zebra Domes!

I love, love, love Boma. We ate there 3 times our last trip! :)

We have 2 daughters, 4 and 2, and they loved it too. Our 4 year old says at least once a week, "I wish our kitchen was Boma"! Me too! :) The couple sitting behind us couldn't believe how our girls cleaned their plates.

We loved the meal for the food, but the other reason to go is for the Lodge. It is an awesome place with some cool activities for your kids go, eat and let your kids learn something while they're having fun at Disney. :thumbsup2

We loved it so much we booked AKL for our stay and will try breakfast this time since we loved dinner last time.

Like everyone has said, since it is a buffet there is something for everyone. One of my girlfriends ended up eating chicken fingers, french fries, and mac & cheese from the kids buffet! I really enjoyed the soups, and being a vegetarian I was glad that there were many options for me to choose from. Definitely keep it.

We ate there for Breakfast and dinner on our last trip to WDW. We have ADR for dinner on our trip (starting in 9 days :cool1: ).

We really enjoyed the offerings at Boma. I particularly enjoyed the Boma Mustard with the prime rib. Really great flavor combination.

DS7 is a finicky eater (translated: chicken nuggets, fries, white toast only). He found something to eat there.

Also, Zebra Domes? Big hit with DW. I found them in our carry-on luggage on day of departure (sneaky sneaky). :lmao:

Is it curry that they use a lot of??

They don't use much curry. I only remember seeing it in the pasta salad and one of the soups. The food there isn't very spicy, and not particularly exotic. It is Disney, so it's in the middle. Some things you will recognize, some you won't. The desserts seem to please everyone, but they're not African at all. In general, the food is very good for a buffet. You really have to try it for yourself to see if you like it. Every poster here has his or her own individual taste, and it may not be yours.

I love Boma. This is a favorite of mine and my husband. For me it's probably one of the better places to eat when I'm in Disney. One poster mentioned alot of spices in the food. I don't find that at all. I think you should try it. If you want to pass on a meal make that one Chef Mickey's. That place has to win a prize for the worst food on property!

Well, I don't know if you were referring to me (I'm too lazy to look. lol) but I didn't say there was a lot of spices in the food but there was ONE particular spice that they used that was not to our liking. I'm not sure what it was but it was in most of the food that they cooked and it turned us right off it. Somebody asked about curry. LOL If it was curry, we'd be right there to eat it...we love that stuff.

As much as I hated it, we had to try it. If you don't try it, you'll never know. It's like Mission Space...you gotta try it at least once... :rotfl2:
