I keep reading about the AKL closing. What will this mean for reservations at Boma in September?

Nothing. Boma and Jiko will continue to operate normally.

However, it does mean that Boma isn't as booked up for September. Surprisingly, I had several choices of dinner times available when I called today for 9/7.

Yes, August, especially Labor Day week is booked up everywhere but September has lot's of openings at Boma.

Yeah I agree on the date thing being the determining factor. Labor Day weekend is one of the last hurrahs of summer so I am fairly certain that not being able to add 2 more people is a function of the number of tables already booked. By the way we have been following the construction updates at AKL (we are brand spanking new DVC owners at AKL so we are interested ) and it seems pretty clear that what is being directly affected by the renovations/building are room stays in the hotel part of the AKL and NOT reservations at Boma's or Jiko's. I have read postings from folks who have stayed either in the new DVC villas or in the regular guest rooms (and haven't been moved to SSR) and it seems construction is causing minimal disruptions. They are moving folks out of the AKL in the next few months since they want to keep moving at the ahead of schedule pace that they are currently moving at BUT this is not supposed to affect the restaurants, etc.
