We are trying to find a place to has a TS dinner the night of EMH in AK. It looks like our choices are slim and I am looking for opinions on Tusker House and Boma... which is better? which has more variey? I am not an adventurous eater, so will I find anything I like? Or should we just do a counter service and save the TS for another meal?

Also, and I know this is not restaurant related, how are EMH in AK in the PM? Is it worth it?

Have you checked the menus? http://allears.net/menu/menu_tus.htm

I haven't eaten at Tusker House , but we have gone to Boma a few times and love it. --You do realize that Boma is at AKL and you'll have to leave the park to eat there-- There are a lot of "different" foods at Boma, but I've found most picky eaters can find food they like, such as prime rib, rotisserie chicken, and chicken nuggets and the best strawberries I've ever had! :)

For your 2nd ?, we did evening EMH at AK in December and loved it! We spent the afternoon in the park, got our wrist bands, left to go have dinner at Boma and then came back to ride EE in the dark. That was awesome! :thumbsup2 totally different experience than during the day. Also, the park has a really different feel in the dark that's very cool :cool1:

I've eaten at both restaurants and give a big thumbs up to both.

Either one would be a good pick, but here are a couple of factors.

Boma - has 5 soups on the buffet
Tusker House doesn't have soup (that I can remember)

Boma's meats can be a bit spicy
Tusker House's meats are milder (and they still carry rotisserie chicken from their CS days)

By eating at Tusker House you'll stay in the park for EMH.
Boma gives you a great chance to visit and explore the Animal Kingdom Lodge, which is worth a trip in itself.

Both have hummus, breads and interesting side dishes like couscous and rice pilaf.

Both have the usual kids selections. My DS really liked the corn dog nuggets and make your own PB and J at Tusker House.

Both have great desserts on the buffet.
