I have one last ADR to figure out and would like opinions. Dinner at Boma or Teppan Edo? I've been to Boma years ago but never to Teppan Edo. We are staying at the Beach Club so TE would be convenient. Or if anyone has any other recommendations other than those two. This is my list:

1) O’hana
2) Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show
3) Narcoossees
4) Yachtsman
5) Le Cellier
6) Skipper Canteen
7) Beaches & Cream
8) Cape May Café
9) Via Napoli
10) Boma or Teppan Edo?

Thanks!

I would have to go with Boma. Teppan Edo isn't bad by any means but it's pretty equal to any standard hibachi place. I would also look into Sanaa.

Thanks! I wasn't sure if it was any better than usual hibachi or not. We are doing Sanaa in March (The ones listed above are for our July trip) so I was looking for something different.

Between Boma or Teppan Edo, I'd go Boma. I am not a fan of buffets (especially lunch/dinner) but Boma is still pretty decent and one that I do enjoy. I wouldn't call it great, but it is the best buffet I've been to at Disney. With that said it's still mass produced and placed under heat lamps or heat tables for droves of people to serve onto a dinner plate. Most buffets are about quantity and not quality; Boma does offer quality but IMO still lags behind a decent non buffet restaurant. I will say there are some interesting and unique offerings at Boma. However, with that said, when it comes to 1TS restaurants at the AKL, I much prefer Sanaa over Boma.

Good feedback, thanks.

I'm not dead set on eating at AKL. Any recommendations in the World Showcase/Epcot Resort Area other than what's on my list?

Tappan Edo... by far.

I know I'm in the minority, but I thought the food at Boma was weird and gross, the tables are right on top of each other, and the service was really terrible and slow.

Tappan Edo may be pretty much a standard hibachi type place, but it is still very good.

While I really like hibachi, I can get that anywhere. I don't really love a buffet, but the soup alone at Boma keeps me returning.

If you haven't been to AKL, all the restaurants are good (Boma and Sanaa which has been mentioned and Jiko is one of our top Signatures... even The Mara is a quality CS location) and the resort is at very least worth going and seeing.

As far as the WS/EC resort area goes, Shula's (steak), bluezoo (seafood) and Kimonos (sushi) at the Sw'olphin are all somewhere between excellent and fantastic, IMO. If you just want a burger or ribs and a beer, we enjoy BRG on the Boardwalk (followed by dessert from the bakery or funnel cake). Rose & Crown and Les Chefs are nice in the WS and we are looking forward to trying out Spice Road on our trip in May.

We ate at Jiko on our last trip, it was amazing. The food and service was top notch. Also a fan of R&C.

I never thought about the S&D, thanks for the ideas! Bluezoo looks like a winner to me.

If you are staying at BC, I'd definitely choose Teppan Edo as the more convenient option. Teppan Edo is terrific, by the way. We really enjoyed our meal there. I see you are being really smart and picking other places that are near the BC. Be sure to try the Boardwalk Bakery and the bakery in France. We were at the French bakery nearly every day on our last trip we liked it so much. We also love the Hacienda restaurant in Mexico. It is our favorite in all of Disney.

I agree. I really wanted to love Boma, but I did not like anything on the buffet other than the soups and desserts. I'm not a picky eater either, but everything they had was either bland or just....bad. Just my opinion. Tappan Edo, true, just like any hibachi place....but it is at WDW so somehow it makes the whole scene a little more fun.

I've had them both, and Teppan Edo is my choice especially considering you can just walk over from BC.

All on your list are good. You can't go wrong with O'Hana's either....

Last year we dined at Teppan Edo for the first time and Boma for the third time. I'll let you know right now - I'm a HUGE fan of Boma.

But I'd totally go Boma over Teppan Edo. Teppan Edo is very good and I totally recommend it, but at the end of the day it's like a Benihana. Boma offers some pretty unique dishes and it's a buffet. If you're on the meal plan, it offers a far better value. The desserts are much better, too!

Overall - ask yourself what kind of food you and your family enjoy. If you have an adventurous palate, then Boma would be right up your alley. They use a lot of spices and while you can find some "normal" food like chicken tenders and mac and cheese, it's not really worth it and you won't enjoy it as much if things like a "carrot ginger soup" or different types of hummus don't appeal to you.

Boma is an awesome way to end your trip. We did it last year and really enjoyed ourselves.
