Hey all,

My first day at the World will be at Animal Kingdom. The park is open 9-8 that day.

I am looking at either Boma or Ohana for dinner that night. Boma would be at 8:45 and Ohana at 9.

Staying at POP if that makes any difference.

Just wondering if anyone can recommend one over the other for a solo diner.

Also have reservations for Crystal Palace lunch, Hollywood and Vine dinner , 9 dragons lunch, and Tusker House breakfast if that matters.

THANKS for you help.

There is zero doubt in my mind on this one! Boma! There is no way I would subject myself to the annoying antics going on at 'Ohana (and sub par food)if I was dining without children!

I'd go Boma - I enjoyed both restaurants; I just think that as a solo diner you'd have a lot more choices - and a lot less food waste - at Boma. :hippie:

Definitely Boma (more choices, much better food, and you wouldn't have to deal with all the antics and bad service). I've dined solo at Boma several times and have always enjoyed it. I'd go there just for their soups and desserts.

Boma's, definitely! The servers are very friendly and the food assortment is wonderful. 'Ohana's is just so-so.

I wouldn't do either of these on my own. But then I don't do the buffets anymore, and from what you've listed you are doing lots of buffets. If you like the buffets, I think Boma is still one of the better ones, although I won't go there anymore either.

If I had to choose between them, it would come down to whether or not I wanted to get up and get my food, or have it brought to me. I don't really like the 'Ohana entertainment, but that can be solved by making a late reservation (they stop at 9:30). 'Ohana also seems to be suffering from service issues. Boma's pretty loud as well but I haven't seen any service issues for there.

I haven't been to 'Ohana for dinner, but I would say Boma, just for the fact that it's a buffet so you can serve yourself smaller portions. At 'Ohana they bring you food family style so you'd prob end up wasting a lot of it.

BOMA!!

The one time we went to Ohana, it was nothing special. Lots of dried up meat.

But Boma is one that we keep going back to.

Boma, first because it is much, much better food, and secondly, I went to Ohana alone with my 2 kids, and we felt very small and alone, it seemed like there were many large groups all around us.

Ok, I will be the odd one out. We love Ohana's and I think it would be nice to have a few more meals where you are served rather than a buffet. It is no more crazy than the character meals you have planned! It is great for people watching and if you luck out with a window seat the views are very nice.

thanks everyone. Guess I will be getting my Boma on! 6 weeks and counting! Woo Hoo!

I found this thread because I've been wondering about Ohana solo, too.

What did you end up doing?
