Hi All :goodvibes
We are going to be staying at AKL (club level) for 2 nights prior to check in at the Poly for 8 nights. Our thought is that we will pretty much just eat the club level offerings, but I will probably book a meal at Boma, so we actually have a "meal" during those days...would you recommend Boma Breakfast or Dinner? What has better selection? And can you describe some of the offerings? Thanks!!!

For us breakfast is a better choice because its excellent and because we do not like our dinner foods to be so sweet in flavor...they use alot of vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg and other "baking" spices

We did both during our stay and I thought they were both fantastic!

Breakfast is the normal buffet food, but very good. I would say less "adventuresome" at breakfast. Dinner was also very good but had some different "flavorful" food items.

*shamelessly bumping for more opinions* might I also add, that we will be paying out of pocket for our Boma meal, as our dining package does not kick in until we check into the Poly....I'm thinking that breakfast is cheaper than Dinner...

Well I'm not much of a breakfast person, I can't eat much it the morning, so for me it's Boma for dinner!

My favorites:

Salad with this refreshing Cilantro dressing, the watermelon rind salad, yes sounds funky but so tasty. There's a beet salad w/ cucumber and avocado. Soups, 2 favorites the carrot ginger soup and the tomato. We enjoy the roast beef, med. rare and the the roasted chicken as well. They have really good African potatoes, vegetable cou-cous (love it), and there's Boboti (a sudo quiche kind of a thing with ground meat, a bit sweet, there's a breakfast version, anyway I like it) and vegetable shish kabobs. I really have to pace myself, I'm not a huge eater but I gt a bit of everything. As far as desserts, not my thing but I do love these little tartlets they have. Zebra domes however do not do it for me.

My son (15 today) has loved Boma since he was old enough to chew! We don't do buffets anymore other than Boma, dinner, to us it's worth the OOP pirce. Unfortunately I often travel with friends who can't justify the price, they have picky eaters so then we have to go w/out! To each his own!

We LOVED our dinner at Boma! It was our favorite meal, hands down.

We all liked the soups, the salmon was very good, the watermelon rind salad, the vegetable couscous, the bobotie, my husband liked the roast pork (I think it was pork), the beet salad, and the hummus (black olive was our favorite). I could have eaten at that buffet every night we were there. I liked the zebra domes too but only ate one because I was stuffed! If you are not a picky eater, I highly recommend this meal.

I enjoy both Boma meals. Breakast at AKL CL is very nice selection of fresh fruit, oatmeal, quinoa, and pastries. Enough to satisfy me for a breakfast. While I enjoy the AKL CL evening offerings I would say Boma for dinner is a better choice as the lounge isn't always enough for a dinner substitue. I really enjoy Boma dinner. LOVE the soups and salads and could make a meal out of just those.
