We've been to Disney World many, many times and have eaten at Boma for 3 of our last 5 trips. We went this last time (Oct) with friends who had never been. We were there for 8 days and they said that Boma was far and away the best meal of the trip for them. LOVE IT!!!

We love Boma because it is so different from anything that you'll find at WDW or in your local hometown or city. I say give it a try. There really is something for everyone there as it's an extensive buffet.

Love it, love it, love it! It's different; it's delicious! We are there a lot! Definitely a don't miss!!

breakfast or dinner? we are trying dinner this trip, but several trips ago we had breakfast there and found it was not worth the effort to get there. we do not have a car at wdw and trying to make a breakfast ADR was challenging to say the least. hoping dinner will be better. :earboy2:

Boma is a very good place to eat. They have Salmon, Chicken, Roast Beef among there american dishes. They have many african dishes that are very good. There soups are the best we have had out before, they have four diffrent ones to choose from. We just ate there again the first week in October and it was very good. Try to get there early so you can go outside and see the animals and visit there marketplace. They also have another restaurant there called Jiko, that is our favorite place to eat at WDW.

Well, I have never been to Boma, so I can't say. But other people here have loved it an I have read on a ton of other threads how good Boma is, so I say give it a try.
Also, if you cancel it, you may decide you want it later, and then you could be stuck. I say go for it.

We were disappointed, but our expectations were too high given the rave reviews here. It is an extensive buffet - I believe the waitress said 85 items.

The exact menu changes from night to night, but will include some recongizable dishes (prime rib, potatos) and some interesting dishes you may not have encountered (foofoo which is a sweet potato dish, bobatie, which is a meat and egg dish, watermelon rind salad). The buffet is set up in pods (i.e. stations), including a "kid" pod (also known as the picky adult pod) with mac n cheese and chicken fingers. A salad pod, with several different salads including a ceasar, and a soup pod (which was the only thing we had that deserved raves - every soup I tried was really good). Of course, a dessert pod finishes the buffet (or starts it if you believe "life is short, eat dessert first.")

Boma is a must do every trip restaurant for our family. Besides the food, just going over to the AKL is a treat!

We went to Boma on Tuesday for the first time, after reading all of the raving reviews and checking out the all ears website. It sounded good and we love trying new things/spices, and especially buffets. To us, it was a let down. The night before we went to Ohana and had an amazing time. It isn't a buffet but it is all that you can eat, family style. I would recommend trying Ohana instead!

Okay we are going you guys are the best
Its going to be whole day of AK. I cant wait :cool1: :)

So how about some ideas for counters service in MGM & Epcot :confused3

Have fun!!

MGM & Epcot..hm...I will look into it and get back to you!

In Mgm we like the Studio Catering Company. In Epcot, I like the Cantina in Mexico, the Liberty Inn in the American pavillion, and the Tangerine Cafe at Morrocco. We are trying Boma for the first time in February!

Boma is one of my favorites. But you have to have a BIG appetite to get your moneys worth. It costs about $28 a person for buffet.

I agree. This was the best meal of the entire trip. Had I known this, we would have gone twice! :cool1:

We thought it was OK. We had read here how great it was and it just didn't do much for us.

Boma is really good...the soups and the desserts really stand out. We've been twice now. The first time was better than the last, but still good.

As for counter service in MGM...good luck! We did the Backlot Express in Sept. and it was awful. I've heard that the Studio Catering Company is good.

There are several good places in Epcot. We always liked the Sunshine Seasons in the Land, but haven't been since they re-did it. We also like Tangierine Cafe in Morroco...very tasty food!

Took my DH there for the first time in October (I'd eaten at Boma several times prior to this trip). He wasn't too sure about African food, but now that's he's eaten there, it was by far one of his (and mine) favorite meals.
He liked it so much, we've already made our ressies for 2006's Food & Wine
Festival and he told me to be sure we also had ressies to eat there again.
