We are trying to decide that if we do AK PARK, we either want to do breakfast or dinner at BOMA. The Donald's Safari we wanted but is completely booked :( Oh well...........which is better in your opinion. If we did breakfast, I would want to get it done so that we could go to the park at opening and we would probably drive our own vehicle because I worry about transportation from the GF that early. I don't want to be late and Disney Dining says to allow an hour transportation time. Any input would be helpful. THANKS!

Dinner at Boma is one of my absolute favorites! The carrot soup is amazing (and I HATE carrots!). If you can, you should definately try dinner there.:goodvibes

I'm sorry to say I don't have a reply but want to bump this thread up because I would love to know what people think, too! I have seen photos of both buffets, and they look amazing! We're currently booked for dinner on our upcoming trip but I'm wondering if I should switch or try to swing doing both.:goodvibes

Good topic! We are also booked for dinner but would like to know about breakfast... :surfweb:

Or maybe we should do both...

Breakfast at Boma is a must for us. We love the breakfast buffet. We have, but don't eat at Boma for dinner anymore. The dinner food is good, but the spices don't settle well on my stomach. We love Jiko so that's where we eat at AKL for dinner

We did breakfast here last time and are going to try dinner this time.
We all enjoyed our breakfast but it was my DH's favorite place. Many choices, nice atmosphere, great juice, friendly staff. Highly recommended. No complaints here. :goodvibes

We are having the same debate because we love them both!!!

I think I'm going to book both....................... :woohoo: :upsidedow

We ate dinner there Mother's Day 2007 and absolutely loved it. Yep, the carrot ginger soup was fabulous :thumbsup2 This year, however, we are trying the new Tusker House buffet for lunch at AK one day so we don't have to leave the park and can take advantage of the EMH that evening. My understanding is that TH has a similar menu to Boma, except more Indian-style food than African influenced. So this year we are trying a Boma breakfast on a different day before we spend part of the day at Blizzard Beach (fairly close by), then the afternoon and evening at DHS.

Breakfast is good, but dinner is better. The food options are little more varied and unique at dinner. Breakfast has a few unusual items, but more regular breakfast food. When I eat at Boma, I like to eat things I can't get anywhere else. I haven't been to Tusker House for lunch or dinner yet, but breakfast was great. I liked the breakfast food at TH better than at Boma.

We've never done Boma for breakfast (although it's on our list for our December trip) but we have done the dinner, which is AWESOME :thumbsup2. It's a great buffet with plenty of variety and lots of different things to try.....but not too different that you won't be able to find anything you like ;).

Boma has an amazing breakfast buffet, there are a ton of pictures in my April link on my signature......I cannot wait to try dinner in Oct

We stayed at AKL two years ago and had dinner and breakfast several times each. Both were great, but if I had to pick I'd take breakfast. The breakfast pizzas are really good.

Breakfast and dinner are both great at Boma. If you have dinner there, you can tour the savannahs and the lodge.:goodvibes

That would be awesome to tour the savannahs. Is this an official tour such as they show on the travel channel where the family rode around in a caravan at the resort? I was told (don't remember who or where) that the savannah tours were only open for AK lodge residents....

I like both and DH prefers the breakfast over dinner. The spices don't always agree with him which is probably why.

I was never much of a breakfast person but they are both good. But consider this, a lot of people, myself included tend to really pig out at buffets. I wouldnt want to start a day at a park feeling totally stuffed but if you go to bomas after the AK closes, you can take your time at dinner, eat to your hearts content and walk it off with a casual stroll around the AKL savannahs.

We love dinner here. Breakfast was more American with some authentic choices. The soups at dinner are amazing. Also I love the london broil and the Durban Chicken ( think really good rotissere chicken with smoky flavor). Even the pickest of our bunch found alot of food choices here. I love the hummas also. The kids loved the peanut butter rice. One of them ate an entire plate of this rice. LOL. The desserts are over the top. My favs are casava cake, banana bread pudding, fruit tarts, and zebra domes. I cant imagine a trip to Disney without eating at Boma.

We love breakfast so much there, that I have decided to book dinner there as well! Boma has the best breakfast on property, in my opinion. We can wait to try it for dinner.
