Hey i was just wondering if any of you could tell me what experiences you've had dining alone at Boma !

I have had a breakfast at Boma solo it was a wonderful meal and was treated as well as any family there, its definately on my list for breakfasts again this year.

I've eaten solo at Boma several times. The only problem is that they have a habit of "losing" my ADR time. Last time I sat for 1/2 hour after my ADR time, asked and they said "just a few minutes" (but they didn't ask my name). Then after 1/2 hour, another family went in and they said "Well, that's the last ADR". So I went and asked-they'd "forgotten" me. And that happened anther time, at dinner. But once in, it's been very good. Once I mentioned to my server that I wished they offered Caffeine Free Diet Coke, and he went and found me a can (maybe at the store). I really appreciated that. However, I've always been placed at those long couches, never at an indiviadual table.

I ate at Boma (among several other TS restaurants) on my first solo trip. I was a little worried as it was a buffet, but Boma was my favorite solo dining experience on that trip. Aside from the fact that I love the food there, the staff couldn't have been more wonderful.

Yes!!! Boma is a good place for solo in my previous dining experience... CM are very friendly, attentive and chatty :)

Please forgive my ignorance since I am new to WDW subjects. My company is going to fly me to Florida in late July and I figured I would take advantage of the situation and visit WDW for the first time.
My Question is this: What does Boma stand for?

I really enjoyed my solo dinner at Boma. No one to count the number of trips I took to the buffet!! If you want to dine early, I recommend you start with the (free) culinary tour. It starts at Jiko around 3:45 or 4 (check schedule) and ends at Boma about the time they are opening up for dinner. I had a 5'oclock ADR and it worked beautifully with the tour.

Pete, Boma is not an acronym for anything. It is Swahili for fort or fortress, or...cattle pen!! :lmao:

I've been to Boma solo a few times. Never had a problem with my ADR. And on my recent birthday trip, they were the only place I dined that took the info off my original ADR and did something for me. I received a special dessert plate which my server helped me pack up to go since I already picked out dessert from the buffet. Plus they brought the plate over without making a huge deal out of it or drawing attention to me. I thought it was a perfect presentation since I was solo.

I dined at Boma solo last September and really enjoyed it. Some very unique food options there. My server wasn't the greatest but he was probably just mad because I was on vacation and he wasn't!

Boma is a great solo place. There are no characters and it is so crowded no one could tell. The waiters/ ress are awesome. I'm so busy stuffing my face I have no time for other people. They just get in the way. :)
