Bogg Bags

I bought one last week online and I got it Monday. I returned it Tuesday.

I fell into the hype but I didn’t realize how huge the bag is!! We would only use it for the beach (in NJ so only 3-4 months a year) as my kids are adults now so no sports events and I’m not lugging that thing through the airport. Or putting into my checked bag. Since we’d barely use it, and I don’t have a huge house with tons of storage, it got returned.

My kids got me a Sand Cloud beach towel bag for Mother’s Day that works much better for me.

After reading these posts, I'm thinking "meh", I'm not going to get it. For about $1.99 I can buy a target shopping bag and take it to the beach (also from NJ!) and it'll do the job just as well.

I bought a knockoff without knowing there was a name brand version or an actual "thing". I use mine for harvesting vegetables from my garden. Carries a lot and I can hose it down when I'm done. I can't imagine using it on a daily basis out in public; it's rather large!

They have had the original brand in our military exchange for a few years. I look at them occasionally because they are interesting. Overall I find them hideous and when I saw the price of the original brand I just laughed. As someone said above, it's just a lot like Crocs for a tote bag.

Since, I've seen different brands. Apparently Costco is carrying something like it randomnly they people are looking for. Edited to add the Costco one.

I may buy a smaller knock off one on Amazon for a much cheaper price because I do like the easy to clean material. It also won’t hold any sand.

My friend who lives in Ventnor bought a knock off from Temu and she really likes it. It comes in handy when the grandkids visit and they go to the beach.

I've had my knockoff as my pool and beach bag for the last 3 years. Got the one with a nice zip pouch...and honestly, it's been perfect.

I used to use a reusable grocery bag, but it never fit all the towels and toys, it got grimy quickly, and then we'd snap the strap.

This thing is indestructable and uber-cleanable.

So, I love it. But I didn't pay Bogg prices, either...and I got the largest size as a Mother's Day gift from the spouse (I specifically asked him to find me the bag without the price, so he got Amazon's version back then)...

PS - It was absolutely awesome for our Myrtle Beach trip last year - kids chucked dirty shells and shoes in, and we'd just take it to rinse every day...

I have 3 of them. (They are from Temu, so probably counterfeit however) I have a smaller one and two of the bigger ones. I have orange, teal, and yellow. They are good if you are going to carry a lot of junk when you are going somewhere, beach, pool, or can be used if going to Aldi.

I have a Bogg bag and have had it for a few years. I own a beach condo, and I use it exclusively at the beach. It is great for that purpose! Holds a lot. Easy to wash off. I like that it is structured and stays in place when I set it down as opposed to crumpling like a canvas or cotton bag would.
I agree with a previous poster that there are a white areas on my navy bag that I think are from sunscreen. They won't wash off, but it doesn't bother me as it's a beach bag and used frequently (not meant to be pristine, imo).
Bogg bags have been a beach thing in Florida for a while. Interesting that they are catching on elsewhere.

i just realized that the plastic version of these that i bought in the 90's :scared1: is still in use in our 'outdoor' shed. dh has it filled with new sections of drip irrigation hoses and such. if i remember right it was on the goodwill donate pile at some point and dh caught sight of it and declared it his (easy to rinse out and the holes provide year round air circulation).

Got 2 years ago when they first came out. Used to be super hard to find. Used mine a couple times. They are just too bulky and heavy.

They seem to have made a reappearance. Everyone at watercolor on 30A seems to be using them again. No one has used them here the last 3 or so years.

I just bought a bright pink one at the Disney Character Warehouse in Orlando when we were at WDW the second week of May. On sale for $49, that got me to cave. We spend A LOT of time at the beach/pool/lake every year. I like that it does not get wet and you can wash the sand off easily. I was previously using a TJ Maxx reusable shopping bag or a Lands End tote. This is definitely an upgrade.

o.k.-i'm putting the blame squarly on THIS THREAD! googling to see what bogg bags look like got me reminiscing about my old 90's jelly totes so i just wanted to see an image of one and WHAM i find out they are back and considered nostalgic cool-now i've got 3 on order :scared1: foruntaly they are much less expensive than boggs AND michaels is having a big sale making them dirt cheap:yay:

I have to laugh because I do think they are cute for the beach but I have found my favorite “beach bag” to be the Marshall’s and TJ Maxx shopping bags! Yes I know…go ahead make fun of me.
My go-to beach/pool bag is one of those enormous blue Ikea tote bags. You are not alone.

I have one that is probably 4-5 years old. I have the large sized one. I use it as my beach/pool bag. I like that it holds 2 towels plus a change of clothes, sunscreen etc. mine has held up great and I’ve had no issues with it.

When I travel I tend to use my Sea Bag, which I also love. This lays flat making it easier to pack. I have had my Sea Bags for probably 5 years. They have also held up great. I did have a zipper pocket added to the inside of mine. This is great for your chapstick, keys, etc. I’ve been eyeing some new patterns.
