i secured a reservation at BOG for dinner, 9:45 p.m. during MVMCP. Can we just order dessert? A little late for a meal but wanted my niece to be able to see the castle.

BoG is pre-fixe only for the evening meal. So the answer is its a $60 dessert.
Ala carte was no longer offered after the end of July for evening.

If you are only interested in seeing the castle and not spending a lot on a meal, look for a breakfast or lunch reservation. Breakfast and lunch are still QS, a la carte and you can order as much or as little as you'd like. As PP's have noted, dinner is now a pre-fixe meal at BOG and you can no longer order a la carte at dinner.

If you want to see the castle, and don't care about seeing the Beast, you should consider breakfast or lunch. Dinner is a $60 per person 3 course meal.
