Was this how it always works? We ordered ahead for lunch last week at BOG for 10:30am. We were sent to a kiosk behind a family of 4 who didn't order ahead and took about 15 minutes to decide what they wanted. We had to wait for them to finish what they were ordering before we could do anything. I thought by ordering ahead , I would save time but doesn't seem like I did? Is this the usual procedure for everyone? Thanks!!it was a great meal by the way just wondering if next time, I shouldn't bothering ordering ahead since I have to wait anyways!

Hmm. Usually there are 2 lines. One for those who need to order, and one for those who only need to pay for their preordered meal. Either they didn't have both lines set up yet, or someone made a mistake about which line you needed to be in.

Agree with this. We ate there earlier this month. We preordered. A really long line on the right was for people who needed to order, we went to the left line, which was no line, paid and sat down right away.

Oh ok thanks for your reply! I think everyone was in the same line and they did give us a yellow rose thing to hold? The CM did keep coming over to the family that was taking forever to order definitely trying to rush them along! We will still probably order ahead anyways because it's fun to do at home!!

Yeah, something was weird then. We also got a yellow rose, that was how they knew to send us to the left line for people that pre-ordered.

I've only preordered Breakfast and they "lost" my preorder both times and I had to order like everybody else.

I think if you have an opening breakfast (8am) or opening lunch (10:30am) you will often get sent to a kiosk to order, even if you've pre ordered, so you don't see any time saved and may actually feel like you've wasted time.

Pre ordering will save you time if you have a breakfast or lunch a little bit later then opening and beyond, because huge lines form at the kiosks and you will be sent to a cashier.

I have been in the left line almost every single time ... about 6-7 times now. I have yet to see them sending folks to Kiosks in any rhyme or reason, they just seem to send you where they think it will be finished soon. About half I got sent to cashier and half to the kiosks. Last couple times only 1 cashier was working. I've had to go back to CM and say I need to be moved because the folks in front of me are too slow and they let me go to cashier. Amazing how difficult those kiosks are for most. I think the advantage of the pre-order is NOT the kiosk room so much but rather you go in the shorter left line from the usually full right line. So you skip ahead of a bunch of folks for the kiosk to pay.

We've preordered before and one time we had to do it all over again when we got there, and another time it was all ready for us to be seated. Not sure what's up with their pre-order system.

When we were there in May we did not preorder, and we were stuck in a very long line all the way out the door and across the bridge. People who had preordered were directed straight into the castle. I have no idea where they went from there, but a lot of people were bypassing the line so it certainly seemed faster.

We haven't made it to BOG yet, could someone explain about the seating? I know you need an ADR for lunch, and you can preorder (or not) but I read in another post someone talking about 'finding a table'. If it's and ADR restaurant, are you assigned a table before you order/pay or afterward, or are you just on your own? Since they aren't taking walkups, I'm assuming they don't overbook so there's a table for everyone, is that right?

Even though you need an ADR, breakfast and lunch are still standard QS meals. Once you enter the restaurant, you must find your own table and seat yourself. You'll also get your own drinks. The primary differences from other QS restaurants are that you need an ADR, you have the option to pre-order your meal, and they bring the food out to you.

Dinner is typical TS where they seat you.

Thanks for the info about seating. Does that mean you could be wandering around looking for a table even after your food is ready? Is it an advantage to pre-order because you can then send the rest of your group looking for a table while 1 person stays in line to pay? (I suppose you could still do that if you had to place your order assuming someone in the group already knew what they wanted.) Sorry for all the questions, but I'm picturing chaos, yet I haven't heard anyone describe the table hunt as being a problem so I must just have the wrong image. Or maybe I'm just overthinking it! Guess I'm just anxious to be there in person.

I've pre-ordered 3x for lunch. My 1st pre-order was lost. The 2nd and 3rd time I was sent to the kiosk line anyway. I'll still pre-order for my upcoming visit in the hopes that it will go smoothly.

We've eaten there for Breakfast and lunch multiple times now and the pre-order line has always been separate and MUCH faster than the cluster of families standing around kiosks trying to decide what to order. We've never encountered an issue with a lost order, but maybe we've just been lucky. It sounds like something might have been wrong if they had all pre-orders and on-site orders clustering in the same line.

You won't be "wandering around "for long. And it's for a very good reason. No one is allowed into the dining room until you have paid for your meal. So you don't have countless families hogging tables while someone else is standing in the order line. It works very well and I've never seen any evidence of chaos. The advantage of preordering has been well explained by other posters: you aren't standing in that very loooong order line.

- All enter the kiosk/ordering/paying room via a hallway off the foyer.
- No one is permitted direct to dining room.
- Once paid your party may enter the dining room and go find a table OR get your drinks, silverware etc.
- ADR only gets you in the door, all else is serve yourself except for food delivery.
- Might be best to split up at that point for different tasks.
- There are three rooms to choose from with a variety of seating sizes.
- West Wing is the smallest and often packed, Rose Gallery probably least popular.
- YES I have gone and not been able to locate a table, so a CM came to help me and ended up putting 2 of us at a table for 6 at far back of Rose Gallery.
- Felt bad so we sat at one end in case another small party was wandering.
- Key here is food arrival. The kitchen is waiting for the Rose or the MB of the person who paid to stop moving aka seated at a table before delivery.
- As long as you are moving the food will not come out.
- Do not hawk at a dirty table! Kitchen will think you are seated and may show up with your food before the table has been cleaned.

We have a lunch reservation for 11 people, 3 different families. Can our family preorder if the other families don't? Can we pay 3 separate bills? Thanks!

We ate there for breakfast this past Sunday and found the whole experience a total mess. We had an 8am adr, preordered, but there was really no separation in lines. The CMS just put you wherever they wanted with no rhyme/reason or consideration to preorder or not. We had 3 different groups. We had all preordered. 2 groups were sent to kiosks and 1 to a cashier. Our food also took a long time to come out. We were there right at opening, but didn't get our food until almost 840. It was nice to ride mine train once before the crowd, but I don't think we'd do it again.
