BOG: Vindication for those of us against table-saving!

I'm joining this conversation late. To get back to the subject of seating for lunch at BOG, I wanted to tell my story. I put my order in, and requested the West Wing. When I got to the room, it looked full. A CM approached and tried to help find a table. There was none, but one family was leaving. The CM told me to wait while they cleaned that table for me. While I waited, a family with a couple kids entered the room. They spotted the table that was being cleaned and walked over to grab it. No CM intervened to hold them back. Now the CM who had helped me before noticed what happened. I didn't want to make an issue, so I waited for the next available table. This time I got it. This incident didn't have to happen if there was a sign at the entry that said "Please wait to be seated." But maybe Disney doesn't have staff to assist in seating. In that case, what happened to me will happen to others. :(

I will from now on and if i see a mom with 3 or 4 kids looking for a table I wil not care!

If you need a table and you got there first why would you not take the table, if me the mom got there with my two kids either before or after ordering then I get the table. I would not care one iota if you are sitting there and I am not yet, another table will open up shortly, someone will finish eating...maybe motherhood has taught me something...PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!

I agree! If you can't handle it stay home!

Once again another ridiculous statement, I am handling my children just fine, just not in a way you see fit.

I will remember you, and take your advice, when i see a mom with 3 or 4 kids balancing a tray looking for a table. One should open soon!

Aww I am memorable! If you need the table take it, if you are feeling generous than offer it up but you are under no obligation to give anyone, the mom with the 4 kids, the lady on the scooter or the solo guy with the weird hat the table. Once again someone will finish eating shortly and they can get that table.

I'm sorry but why should I have to give up my table to a mother with kids? Since I'm childless I don't deserve a table or I should wait longer? How fair is that exactly?

Posted from my iPhone using DISBoards

Where did anyone on this thread say you dont deserve a table:confused3. If you are eating there than you deserve a table, you will get one. Probably just as quickly as the person who grabbed the table to get the kiddos settled and cleaned up. No one is saying the family takes precedent over the solo traveler. You may have to wait a nanosecond longer when the next table gets up. And even though you are childless, do you not travel with someone or are you a solo traveler? One of you can order the food while the other saves the table and gets napkins etc just like the rest of us ya know.

ETA you know there are times when it is more convient traveling, shopping etc by yourself and other times when traveling as a group is more convient! Just the way it goes
I swear some of you most only go to WDW during Christmas week and eat at noon bc I have never experienced the trouble to get so bent out of shape about getting a table at CS!!!!

So true! I don't feel the same about Disney after joining this board. I was hoping to get advice and help with some questions and alot of these threads turn into stupidity. It really does take the magic away.

I will never understand this...why would you think that just bc it is a WDW board that all are going to agree. This board is awesome for advice and the info here is plentiful to answer practically any question you have! But when someone starts a thread about vinidication, and that we should only breed based on CS at WDW, well people are going to speak up.

Just bc we all have Disney in common, doesnt mean we all approach situations the same.

Well I just said I will take a table from now on and not care. So why do you keep going on with this? I didn't say you couldn't handle your kids. Don't know why you thought that. The only thing I will remember about you is you eat at the food court at the mall quite a bit.

Because you agreed and quoted the poster who said we should not have more kids than we can handle.:confused3 Why else would I respond again?

And okay I dont eat at the food cout mall very often but if that is what your reading comprehension skills are telling you than I dont know what else to say.

I think for the record that I compared CS to the food court at the mall, not that I was a frequent diner there.

I didn't imply that YOU couldn't handle your kids but obviously you must have some guilt issues.

Family haters are in the house,,, and this is Disney for goodness sakes, you know,,, where you find lots of families,,and lots of children!!

Wow!!

What has happened to this thread???

Is this Bash Our Guest?

no...its bash the mother mate, we ve had it all, im suprised this thread is still going i like a good conversation like the next person , but this has turned personal....

as i said in a previous comment, if you cant cope with crowds and kids, dont do disney

Not a one...but thanks for your concern;)

Maybe you need to understand the concept of a discussion board. If you put the comment out there, or if you quote a comment and agree with it than others can comment on said statement as well, even if it is something as ridiculous as basing the size of your family on standing in line in CS at WDW.:rolleyes2
