BOG pre-order and substitutions

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere, however I can't seem to find it.
I would like to pre-order for BOG. Can I make substitutions for the beverage? I rarely drink soda and ice water from the dispensers would be just fine. Can I get my entree and two desserts instead of entree, beverage and dessert?

Others have been reporting as recently as this week that BOG in particular will not allow drink substitutions for any other item even though the ddp brochure says it is supposed to be allowed.

Yes. You just need to ask and be specific that you're on the dining plan and that's what you want to do.

They gave us a hard time back in June. We have to insist that the DDP brochure says otherwise.
