BOG ordering questions

ivwas finally able to get lunch ADR at BOG. I had to make 3 separate reservations to get all 6 of us in. We are on the quick service dining plan but my son is not going to want anything. Do I have to order for him? Also, do we have to order in advance? And one last question, do my children have to order from the kids menu on the DP?

Officially, children 3-9 must order from a children's menu when available per Disney literature.
