Hi all!
Has anyone been to the new BOG prixe fixe dinner? Did you enjoy it? Was it worth the price?

I am going with my DH and his parents this May and they have never been in the castle nor had a signature meal. I know they really wanna see inside the castle, but I also don't want their first signature meal experience to be subpar. We really only have room for one signature meal priced dinner in our budget this trip because we are doing a bunch of other things that take precedent. So I'm torn between showing them the castle for a meal and taking them to a signature restaurant. My DH and I have been to both breakfast and lunch at BOG and were never really impressed so we didnt really want to do those meals with them. So any advice or opinions are welcome!

Thanks!

I saw a you tube video about this. Just like most things here, some of the food was liked a lot, some not so much. Try googling the video.

I, personally, would take them to a true signature. You say you don't want to do breakfast, but why not just make a breakfast ADR and order some drinks? You can quickly see the inside of the castle for less than $5 per person.

It is NOT worth the money you pay. It falls short of a signature meal. There are so many better options for a signature meal. If you want to see inside the Beast's castle, maybe try for breakfast, or better yet, lunch.

It's not a true signature. Food, service are not on par with Yachtsman, Jiko, Flying Fish, etc. I would book a breakfast or lunch so they can see inside and save the signature for a true signature experience.

BOG is another example where demand allows Disney to elevate a ordinary TS restaurant to Disney signature. It not always about the food or table setting and service, but the theme and atmosphere. BOG is theme and atmosphere. The prixe fixe dinner is clearly an expense reduction approach favoring Disney and not the customer. If you are wanting to experience the castle, I would suggest breakfast or lunch as a lower priced option and select one of the other signature dining options.

The change occurred July 27, 2018, according to AllEars.net. Still fairly new, especially if a person hasn't been to WDW since then.
Sure seems longer ago than that. There was so much carrying on here on the boards when it went to prix-fixe and 2 credits, it seems like 2 years. Wow.

This is only a signature due to the 2 credit requirement. At $60, it is the cheapest signature at WDW. If you're using dining credits, I'd go to a real signature, like Narcoossee's, California Grille, or Citrico's. If you're paying out of pocket, this is an average meal in a nice location. If you're going for the location, do lunch instead.

My wife and I enjoyed our meal there, but we were paying OOP. For comparison, our Narcoossee's dinner was about $120 per person, double BOG's prix fixe cost. Our dinner at The Wave cost about the same as BOG dinner. I'd say the food was better at The Wave, but the atmosphere of BOG was vastly superior.

The cost of a signature meal is usually much more than you will pay OoP at BOG, so that would help even more with your budget. I loved everything I was served at BOG for dinner in January. I think you will be happy with it.

IF you are worried about it being a value, then almost all of Disney dining is not worth it....BUT if you are looking for something a bit different and unique AND go with open and positive opinion then you might have fun, who knows! Even Narcoossee's, been there and it was fine but IMHO it was not worth it, food was average, service was lacking but we had fun, watching the parade in the water that night, and taking in the sights, sounds it was worth it, so who know only you know if it will be worth it, I say go for it and have some magical fun!
