BOG Lunch Resv. (wishful thinking?)

For the past several weeks, I have been trying to snag a lunch reservation for 12/20. I was previously signed up with Disney dinning buddy, and I was optimistic that something would open up. Now that Disney dinning buddy went under, I have been checking a few times a day, and I am becoming convinced that I am just wasting my time checking. Has anyone had luck snagging a BOG reservation so close to their trip and/or does anyone have any hints or tips they wouldn't mind passing along or is this likely a lost cause with it being so close to time? Thank you so much.

Don't give up hope! I was there last week (Thursday, 12/3) and snagged a reservation for Friday 12/4 (dinner, admittedly during the Christmas party, but we were going to that anyway!) while sitting in Epcot poking through the MDE app. They DO come up!

I also grabbed a Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Fastpass+ for the same day, on that Friday. They aren't just myths - it DOES happen!

Good luck!

Don't give up! Just last week I was able to score a pre-park opening breakfast ADR for this weekend. We planned this trip on less than a month's notice and honestly, I just randomly checked for BOG whenever I thought of it - maybe a few times a week. I was willing to take breakfast or an early lunch (because we have a very early CP dinner that day). When an option finally popped up I almost didn't realize it because I was so used to seeing the no openings match message!:rotfl:.

I'd try looking right up until the end - maybe you'll have luck the day before since people would have to cancel by then to avoid the penalty. Good luck!:goodvibes

As others have said don't give up. In August, I made an ADR for a meal this weekend. I called in October to change the number of people from 6 to 5 - bad idea. Disney moved us to 2 separate tables. They said we could just show up at the restaurant and hope they had a table for 5. Umm, no thanks - I made a reservation for us all to share one table not two tables who knows how close or far apart. I kept checking for a new reservation and found one today. Reservations do open up close to the time.

Let me throw some cold water on this Rose coloured hope fest. How many people are in your group? The bigger the group, the smaller your chance of getting an ADR at that time of year. But since it is lunch, and you can choose your own tables, I would suggest that you look at multiple ADRs for smaller numbers. For example, if you are a group of 6 you could look for 2 ADRs for 3 or 3 ADRs for 2.

Just wanted to echo what everyone else said and add that I was really surprised how many BOG and other openings that there were the night before when we were in Disney a few weeks ago.

We also are planning a last minute trip ... 25 days to go now! and a BOG lunch was high on my list (only ADR i wanted actually) So i check several times a day ... 1st thing in the morning and last at night and whenever i sit here ... EVERY SINGLE DAY there have been pre-park breakfast times, lunch (sometimes bizarre ..10:45 or 2:15) and often dinner for sometime within the week. I originally snagged a reservation for 1 on the only day we'll be in MK .. changed it to one for both of us at 2:15 and then just this morning was able to switch it to 1:20. So, yup i'd say don't give up ... even when you're on site it's worth checking. Have a blast!

deltadisney, I feel your pain. I have also been searching for the elusive BOG lunch (or dinner) on 12/20. I have searched it multiple times daily for over 2 months, all combinations of party sizes (9 in our party but some can miss it!). I have managed to snag a party of 2 and a couple parties of 1 that don't overlap. Seems hopeless at this point. On the other hand, the last week leading up to the ressie is the most likely time to get it! Yes, I know I am delusional, but in one week I will be at Disney and all of the stress will be forgotten!
