BOG lunch questions!

Hello!

This one is for my fellow picky adults! I'm planning on ordering from the kids menu for our lunch ADR here! Has anyone modified their entrée to get fries, etc. rather than what is traditionally served? Is it easy to do at the kiosks or would you recommend ordering in advance? Is it still true that you simply get the kid's dessert or can you order that from the regular plan? I've tried searching but I haven't found anything too recent!

I haven't been to BOG since we were allowed to simply walk through it (it wasn't open for business yet) in a New Fantasyland sneak peek in 2012 and am curious and want to know what to expect! Thank you!

Last time we were there in June I ordered the kids' braised pork and substituted fries. We ordered at the kiosk but had an actual person there taking the order. It didn't seem to be a problem at all and I plan to do it again in November.

It should be easy to modify your order. As we ordered at the kiosk, CMs were walking around helping you out.

I've also had the kids' pork entree for lunch and no problems with doing that. I pre-ordered online but there was a mess up with their system so I had to use the kiosk anyway. I could have modified it then if I had wanted to. ps the kids' size was lots of food for me for lunch. ps the included green beans and mashed sweet potato sides were excellent.

But kids meals do not get to choose from the regular desserts. If you would like one you need to order it and pay for it. If you are on the DDP you can use a snack credit - but that has to be a transaction on it's own.

That's an excellent point. I paid OOP for my smaller kids meal last Feb and while its a package deal, it certainly didn't include the headline dessert cupcakes. I think I skipped the cupcake because I wasn't that hungry. Here's the blurb re kids' meals:

Children's meals include choice of small lowfat milk or small bottled water.

Juice box, small chocolate milk, french fries or cookie substituted upon request.

I've ordered off the kids menu plenty of times at other places and either paid OOP or what have you. Wasn't sure of how it would work with the recent changes to the dining plan saying that kids and adult credits were more or less the same in terms of QS usage. I tend to be more of a snacker than a meal eater so kids meals work well for me...but by golly do I want that triple chocolate cupcake!!
