Is that right? When did that change as we LOVED and prefer the sandwiches

They are not doing the QS lunch at this time.
Sort of. They had more demand then they had space and many were just coming in for lunch and just ordering a cupcake. Nothing wrong with that, as it was allowed. But it took up table space that another party may have ordered an entire meal. Being closed for Co-Vid gave them an easy way to make the change.Do you mean it's only prix fixe because of the pandemic?

Unless lunch demand goes down, I don't expect to see it go back to ala carte.
I recall all the cupcake arguments. I've had lunch or dinner there every trip since it opened, and it was the best QS in all of wdw until Satuli. When dinner was changed to prix fixe, we stopped having dinner and stuck with lunch. Now that lunch is the same as dinner we won't be back for a very long time. Not that it matters to Disney. People are still desperate to get in.
On the upside, I don't have to stress over the ADR.
I've moved on to Toothsome over at Citywalk. Never been, going in a month, and looking forward to eating there the most out of any restaurants in my two upcoming trips to Universal and wdw. I hope it can be my new BOG.

Hope you enjoy it.
We ate there about a year after it opened and were underwhelmed. Maybe its gotten better.
I've heard it both ways, so I'm hoping for the best. I doubt it will give me the same feeling as walking into BOG. This will be my first time ever at Universal, so overall I'm more excited about rides and restaurants there - it's a shiny new toy - and I'm more emotional and nostalgic for my trip to Disney, like returning home after being gone far too long.
I've veered far off topic though.
I suspect I'll eventually return to BOG when my daughter is old enough to appreciate it. She's two and her world is all Mickey and the gang. Yep, Chef Mickey's here we come, if I can manage to get an ADR.
Enjoy, it really is done very well. If you are staying at the right resorts, love the free Express Pass. This will be my first time ever at Universal,
I will recommend then, if you want to be "wowed" by a place, then Mythos is a good call. The interior is pretty amazing! I agree that there's nothing like walking into BOG! People claim the food there (BOG) isn't that good too, but I've never had it happen to me.

Agree with PP about Mythos.
also really enjoyed Cowfish.
Yes, already made reservations for Mythos and Cowfish, thank you both for the recommendations!
My husband and I booked a 40% off package deal on a whim, which is at Cabana Bay, so unfortunately no EP. I have a feeling we'll upgrade our tickets to annual passes so I've got my sights set on Royal Pacific for a future stay. The EP really makes staying at one of those resorts very worthwhile.
