BOG for dessert during MNSSHP

Hey everyone.
I have seen it discussed before about how many believe it to be a waste of valuable party time during MNSSHP to go to BOG for dinner.
And I agree.
Our daughter (4) is of course obsessed with Beauty and the Beast.
Our initial goal was to get an ADR for 4:00-4:30ish on our party day (we’ll be in Mk same day)
So far we have only been able to obtain part of our group for that time.
However, we were able to obtain an ADR for everyone at 9:10 pm.

I have read in a few places that you can just go to BOG for dessert, and you aren’t obligated to eat a full meal. Is this accurate? Is it frowned upon?

If we can do this, how much time do you think it would take to be seated, order dessert, eat, and meet the Beast?

And that’s the other thing...
Is the Beast even there on party nights that late?
I know I know...there’s no guarantee he’ll even be there to begin with, party night or not...

Our day is 10/22 and is quickly approaching. Trying to lock down our plan for the day. Any insight would be GREATLY helpful!!

Thanks!

I'm one who believes it's a waste of party time. That said, I might consider it for dessert only if I had a BATB obsessed child and I couldn't get in any other time. It is the only place you can meet the Beast. My understanding is that he's supposed to be there all evening, but there's always a caveat.

What time are the fireworks? Just be aware you might miss them.

But do keep looking for an earlier time. Watch the cancellation thread. Things do shake loose as you get closer to your date.

Fireworks I believe are at 10:15.
Trust me, this isn’t our ideal plan.
Earlier time is our priority.
I’ve been calling every day and using the reservation finder apps.
I get the texts and the openings are gone in a flash....frustrating lol.

I’m curious though, if we have a 9:10, and show up a little early, like 8:45, will they try and seat us?
Or even if they stick to our actual time, is there usually a wait to be seated even with the ADR?
Dessert “sounds” quick and easy, but can easily see it taking too long.

We’ve done the early dinner on a party night and it was great. You can still get through the meal fairly quickly. My understanding is it’s fine to just order dessert and you should be able to do that quickly. They roll the cart around with the desserts loaded so it’s minimal wait. I’d say be patient for an earlier time but keep the 9:10 for dessert only. I’ve managed to get what I wanted the day before or same day. Many folks cancel last minute.

We have only eaten at BOG once for dinner but yes there was a short wait for our table. Based on my other table service experiences I would say that is typical of Disney in general. If they have open tables they may be able to seat you early but unless people cancel it sounds like all the reservations are full so I wouldn't think getting a table 25 min early is that likely. Also if you plan to meet the beast you could have a wait depending on when you finish. We had a 20-30 min wait in line to meet him. It was empty when we came in but they don't allow you to renter the restaurant once you meet so you have to do it on your way out.

We had a 6:20 ADR for a party night last year. We tried checking in around 6:00 and we were told to come back about 5 min before our ADR, so I wouldn't count on your 8:45 option. We were seated by 6:30, and maybe a little before. I know we didn't wait long once we go across the bridge.

To minimize your time in the restaurant, ask your waiter for the bill when your order your dessert and go ahead and pay (I suggest a generous tip).

The hardest variable here is the Beast. If he's coming through the restaurant heading for his place to meet just as you're being seated or shortly after, you'll have to wait until his next go round. The line can be long too. Of all the things that could make you late for fireworks, it's meeting the Beast that could throw the biggest wrench in the plan.

You don't mention how many are in your party, but, would you consider keeping the earlier time and just sending your daughter and an adult in to get a cupcake and meet the Beast? There are just too many variables involved to guarantee you will be in and out of BOG in time to see the fireworks with a 9:15 pm ADR. Plus, you'll miss the first parade if that matters to you.

We have 7 in our party. It’s us 3 and then a family of 4. It’s mainly us 3 that really want to meet the Beast, but they are down for anything.

I will definitely ask for the bill right away if we go this route.

Waiting a bit for the Beast isn’t a problem.
We look at it like waiting in line for any M&G...and definitely worth it.
But yeah...don’t want to miss the fireworks.

ONLY thing is we’ll also be watching the fireworks from roof of California Grill a few nights earlier. I know it’s not exactly the same as being the park, but getting to the Hallowishes show after BOG a little late wouldn’t ruin our night.

Keep in the mind that the Beast takes breaks and may not even be there when you are. I would keep checking back and also try Touring Plans reservation finder.

That’s what I’ve been doing.
I got a few hits, and literally was on MDE within seconds and slot was gone already.
Gonna keep trying.
Hopefully something opens up for when we need it.
