BOG Breakfast - worth it if that is your only option?

We have a 9:25 reservation the day before Thanksgiving. I'm holding out hope that hours will be extended to 8am. If not, then I will probably cancel. Assuming hours are extended, taking into account that we have been to Disneyland several times and don't need to experience every ride in the park, recognizing breakfast is our favorite meal, and setting aside the value of the food for the cost, is BOG a not-to-be-missed DW experience? I will keep looking for other time options, but again - Thanksgiving week. The competition in fierce!

BoG was a really neat place to have a meal. If you don't feel pressured by taking the time to eat there, I would say go for it. The theming is excellent. You'll get to enjoy your meal while watching snow fall from the Ballroom windows or surrounded by spooooookiness in the West Wing. I very much enjoyed my visit there. I think you will, too.

If you like breakfast, you will probably be disappointed in this one, but if you really want to experience the inside of BOG, it's what it is.

You might consider coffee+cupcake instead of a full breakfast, though.

recognizing breakfast is our favorite meal, !

Sounds to me like the OP actually wants to eat a breakfast, in which case a cupcake ain't gonna do it. If that's the case, I would definitely cancel the BoG reservation.

I would look for an early reservation at The Wave at Contemporary if you can get one. Really good breakfast buffet, and usually there are reservations available. You'll eat a full buffet, that's much better food, for cheaper than you can eat marginal breakfast food at BoG.

I just checked The Wave for reservations for that date....7:30am is wide open for any party size from 2 to 10, if that helps.

Thanks all! Sigh. Wish breakfast didn't have such a bad rap! I was so excited just to get a reservation (60 days out - didn't know we were going until quite late).

We really enjoyed breakfast there. We liked it so much we did it 3 times our last trip and will do it again in December. Go for it and decide for yourself!

If breakfast is your favorite meal, this one may be rough. I like it. It's exactly what I like for breakfast. I usually have the DDP. I love the Castle.

If you are going for the Castle, have no issues with using park time eating breakfast, and you will be happy with the entrees offered, I would keep the ADR> If you have specific breakfast preferences, and they are not ont eh menu, and the Castle is not a driving force, I would cancel.

In no way would I actually -eat- breakfast for $24 a pop for their lousy little portions at BOG. I would, however, go there and have some small side dish and enjoy the view. Get an earlier breakfast time somewhere else, have a real meal, then go hang out at BOG and drink coffee and people watch imo :D

Its over priced. I personally wouldnt bother. I'd much rather go to Kona, the wave, or GF Cafe for breakfast.

Absolutely BOG is not to be missed, especially if you rarely ever go to wdw. The imagineering is some of the best you'll find anywhere. I consider the restaurant to be an attraction with food. And speaking of food, my family really enjoyed breakfast there. I was adamantly opposed to the breakfast menu and cost when it was first announced, but now I'm a BOG breakfast convert. That meat and cheese tray is awesome. Overpriced, sure, but what isn't at DW. If you are a DL person, and a BATB fan, I think you'll regret not checking out BOG. Since it opened I've made it a point to go there every trip for at least one meal.

I found that most bad rap comes from people that have actual never eaten breakfast at BOG. We enjoy our breakfast at BOG much better than CP. Sure it is overpriced but all food at WDW is.

I would absolutely go there for breakfast! It was actually our favorite breakfast meal of our last trip and we wished we made a second reservation for breakfast on another day too! The theming was beautiful and my 5 year old LOVED the frosted window where it looked like it was snowing outside. If we made reservations for breakfast, they're usually at a buffet so BOG was spoiling us a little bit :)

We were soooo disappointed in breakfast at BoG. Cold food, small portions and BIG prices. If it's the only way you'll get to see the restaurant, and it's important to see it, then keep the ADR, but you're going for the atmosphere, not the food. I had the eggs Florentine (which I see is not on the menu now), and the eggs were cool, barely had any cheese (couldn't taste it), and two wilted pieces of spinach on top. I had a piece of ham that was roughly equal to the size of a business card (actually a bit smaller, and sliced very thin). DH had an open faced sandwich, which he said was also cold and bland.
