BoG Breakfast Prices ???????

My understanding was that BOG Breakfast was a fixed price meal, but not a buffet. For the fixed price of 21.99/adult and 11.99/child, there is a pastry plate brought to the table to be shared and then each person can choose an entree. Lunch is still ala carte.

You are correct, it is a fixed price for each meal, but you can share.

Disney keeps calling it prix fixe, but they have yet to implement it. There is a set price for each person who orders .... but they are not requiring each person to order, which defeats the name. Makes no sense to me since folks are taking up reservations and tables yet ordering minimal and using the included pastry plate....

We have been twice and we ordered a meal for each person. When I compare it to say a food court Bounty Platter, Pastry and Drink .... it's only a few dollars more for a MUCH better setting, much better food and the possibility of early entry to park.

We went in August for breakfast and ti was our favorite beakfast. We were on the DDP so for us, it was a good value for a credit. WE did not share unless you count that we all ended up trying that Donut concoction! It was delicious!

I also do nti understand how Disney allows this practice of sharing at BOG, but as long as they do, I do not blame people for doing just that. We do not share breakfast, but I totally would at lunch. The braised pork is really enough for two!

They don't seem to prohibit sharing, but there's no way to order an extra drink. I was certain they'd charge for everyone, but that hasn't been the case since they opened.

You can add on another drink when you get to the podium to pay. I preordered coffee, but added on a soda to take with me when I left.

How much did they charge you for the extra drink? Since it's a fixed price and you already had your own meal, and if both drinks were for you, I bet they didn't charge any extra. There's certainly no place to order an extra drink at the kiosk where you order and pay, and I can't imagine it's different for preorders.

It's a tough pill to swallow at $21.99, especially for those of us with young kids who are technically "adults" in Disney's eyes. However, in the grand scheme of things...it's actually a very good meal with the potential for some unique options you won't get anywhere else on property....the price does include a nice pastry tray and a refillable drink....you are eating in a castle....and if eating early, you're in the park early, or if eating later in the morning, it's a nice air-conditioned break from reality....oh, and you're eating a meal in the middle of the most popular theme park on the planet (it's this last factor where Disney unfortunately knows that they can crank up the price and still fill to capacity - ha!).

Not defending the price, as it is pretty ridiculous, but relatively speaking, they could probably even drop the pastry tray and still stay busy at this price. It's an unfortunate fact of dining in a theme park. At least for now, bring a couple of Ziploc bags and you've got several easy and "free" pastry snacks for later in the day.

One of our kids has recently had to go gluten-free, so I doubt that we'll be back, given my argument that the pastry tray makes up for some of the perceived value challenges. It's worthless to her at this point, as are most of the entrees. She could order a kid's meal at a lower price (as can any adult), but it would be torture to ask her to sit there and see cronuts and croque madames going past her and not being able to enjoy them!

From my own experience in September, the prices are insane, and the food wasn't that great. (It's a good value on the dining plan but not so much out of pocket.) However, you better believe I squealed with delight when I booked a pre-opening breakfast ADR for BOG just now. All for the pleasure of paying $44 for my mom and me to get in the park early for some good pictures in front of the castle and a good starting position for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Disney has me right where they want me.

They have "to go" boxes, so you can bring a ziploc bag, or use one of their boxes (we just put it in my DD's backpack then).

This is a case where pricing is set to help motivate people onto the DDP. For Disney, it's a win either way.

• You pay out of pocket? They turn a profit on the meal.
• You go onto DDP? They profit!

Inflating prices at a high-demand location like BOG helps make DDP look valuable.

We have a breakfast ADR for December 23rd for 3 adults, 1 child. Unless they start enforcing the pre-fixe thing, we'll be ordering 2 adult meals and 1 kids meal to share. I'm pretty sure that will be enough food, and equally sure we'll still be paying more than the meal is actually worth!

We were there this week and ordered an extra milk for our 2 year old who wasn't having his own meal. We just added it on the order screen and there was no charge.

I am not sure why folks think there is no sharing.
It is a fixed price meal. As in every meal is the same price
But it's not a price per head that enters like a buffet.
Those are 2 different types of meals.
Buffets are charged per person there
Price Fixed are charged the same price for each item ordered.
Buffets have fixed prices but they are still different than what BOG is.
Seems simple to me to understand why they do not force everyone to order a meal.

If you are going to go anyway, you make out okay. I think that meals in general are high in Disney, do when you price your plan and then look at the restaurants and price them, then you decide the value.

We did not share, but that was because we wanted breakfast but there is plenty.

When you cost the meal out, and you look at ordering pastry, an entree and a beverage, it is not that over the top, IMO. We thought the good was good and we thought there was enough.

You don't have to pay $44. You could get two kid's meals and it would only be $24 or you could share one adult meal for the $22.

Thanks for the tip! I hadn't thought about ordering a kid's meal, even though I do this all the time at other quick service locations around Disney.

FWIW, we got an ADR pre-opening. Food was good (I had the sandwich with brie, DH had the meat/cheese, kid 1 had the french toast thing, kid 2 had the kids meal). The atmosphere kinda blew.


BUT!!! We got out of there at park opening and beat the crowds to 7DMT. Got on the first ride of the day, and were so far ahead of the masses that we had the park "done" within like 3 hours. So, it that respect, it was so stinking worth every cent I paid. Like paying to have the park to ourselves, or just us and a few friends.

I would gladly pay the money again to have the same experience!

I am very curious about Sci Fi. We are willing to order 5 meals for breakfast there, but it will be painful paying over $100 for one breakfast.

We ended up cancelling ours last week (a few days in advance). We were towards the end of our trip and spending $44 on a counter service breakfast wasn't something we wanted to do at that point. We also kind of just wanted to relax. We went to Captain Cooks instead and my fiance has been talking about their $7 breakfast burrito for like a week. He loved it.
