BOG breakfast for Mine train warning! Early ride not guaranteed

No issues with BOG breakfast and 7DMT and A&E this morning. We got out about 0840 maybe a minute or two earlier. We were second family waiting for A&E. At some point after we got in line they 7DMT people were let in long before RD crowd. It was a great experience! We could have had short wait on PP afterwards but I got overruled to do Carousel twice before going over to PP. So I say fear not in terms of early ADRs?

And you don't have to order for every member in your party. Maybe share an entree to save some money. You'll still get the pastries.

We were there last week with an 805 BOG reservation and the park opening at 9. We got out of BOG around 840 and went straight to the Mine Train. There was a cast member there waiting and she asked us if we wanted to ride, we said yes and she told us to go in the FP lane. We walked right up and got right on. After getting off and starting to walk through the exit line we decided to hop back into the FP line and got to ride again with no wait and only 2 other people in the train with us (it was only about 845 by then)!!! I'm glad we got to do it twice but honestly don't understand the 90 min wait for the ride, its very nice but really not that great...

For folks who went early recently--did you pre-order? My family of 4 adults is thinking about splitting 2 or 3 entrees (partially because of price, partially because we're not big eaters). I'm wondering how much NOT pre-ordering will put us "behind" with an 8:05 BOG reservation.

I haven't been yet but everything I've read says to pre-order because it will save you a step and thus time.

And who knows why this happens, but it does seem rare and we only have 1 first hand report of it happening. Not a trend, not even common place.

My guess is this CM, and all CM's working this area, have been re-educated by now and we won't hear of it happening again. No way Disney is going to lose revenue from breakfasts because of a CM that feels the need to control a situation that doesn't need to be controlled in the first place. The powers-that-be are more than aware of the fact that many people eat early breakfasts to get a jump on the rope drop crowd. This entire situation could have been avoided by just allowing the diners to head over to whatever attraction they wanted and get in line. In the scheme of things- it is a small handful of people, and isn't going to affect wait times more than a minute or two. If I had small kids- I sure wouldn't want to face a hoard of people rushing towards my family. There are too many things that could go wrong- what would happen if a youngster got overly excited and decided to run out to get on the ride? It was a very, very bad decision by this particular CM.

To be honest, I've never had breakfast at BOG. However, this is the first time I've ever heard any positive reviews about it.

BOG breakfast was one of our favorites. I had low expectations due to all the negative chatter, but it was so good. The service was excellent, especially since I totally messed up the preorder for the nine of us. This was all me, not the app or the restaurant. However the CM fixed it quickly an pleasantly, and away we went.

We had an assortment of entrees and for our table there was plenty of everything. THe pastires were delicious despite teh reviews that they were supermarket quality.

So what actually is available to ride before RD? I know about 7DMT, but what about A&E?

We preordered, but we were literally the second family through the BOG doors. We were sent to a kiosk anyways. If you know you can arrive at the MK by 7:15am to be one of the first one's through, the preorder isn't as necessary.

But I would still do the preorder, you can always change something when you arrive if necessary.

Just 7DMT as far as I know. you can get in line for A&E. I'm not sure what time they start that meet at. But there were a few people lined up at 7:45 the day we were there. Nothing else was open early because we wandered aimlessly for a bit since The Mine Train was down the day we went for breakfast.

I will get flamed here, but I don't think you should get to ride early just because you paid to eat at BOG. People are going around the system and booking reservations in order to beat people to a ride. If you don't want to eat there, don't reserve it. There are a lot of people that would love your reservation simply because they want to experience the restaurant. If you want to ride a ride, then wait like everyone else and get in line when the park opens.

How much earlier than your reservation can you get into the MK? If we have a reservation at 8:25, can we get in at 8:00 for a leisurely stroll down Main Street? Any earlier than 8:00?

If your ADR is before park opening, all reports I read say you'll be allowed in at the same time as others regardless of the specific time you have. That was around 7:50 for us with a 9am opening.

Well, as the thread title reads, it's not a guarantee anyways. The ride was down at opening at least twice when we were there, and if it happens to be raining you are out of luck.

Don't worry I agree!

9/15 pre-ordered, 8 am ADR, got in line for 7DMT at 8:40, second family in line, pre- rope drop.
Rode 3 times in a row. By the time of 3rd ride, rope droppers had arrived. Rope droppers were sent into standby line. Breakfast clubbers, as a Cast Member referred to guests with pre-park opening breakfast reservations, were allowed through Fast Pass lane until 9 am.

Question about riding before rope drop: Since we will have a too short to ride child, can we get a rider swap before rope drop?

I was curious about this as well, and it looks like it was never answered. Has anyone had this experience?

I am traveling solo next weekend. Have BOG ADR for breakfast 8:15. Am of course hoping to ride 7DMT after eating.

But that isn't why I did the ADR. I am making the most of a magical special trip.

Which is hopefully what the majority of people are doing. It's about having fun at Disney no matter what your idea of fun is!

I don't "think" they would do Rider Swap "pre park-opening",but if you get to SDMT when they first open it to BOG Guests, you "should" be able to get 2 rides in before the Maingate line arrives.:)

Nobody is going around the "system". On most days Disney is letting pre-RD breakfast eaters onto 7DMT before the RD crowd shows up. That's the "system". If Disney didn't want them to do this, they would change the "system" and not open the ride. So your beef is basically with Disney, not the people who are getting on the ride that Disney has opened for them.
