BOG Breakfast Extending?

I'm hoping BOG extends breakfast through August. Does anyone know when they extended into July? Was it at the last minute or in June? I keep checking every day but I don't know how far ahead they extended the last "test". Thanks!

They extended into July in mid April, so we're past the time for them to extend into Aug. As popular as it's been, I'd be surprised if they took it completely away. My guess is they are evaluating and may tweak it a bit, but there's really no way of knowing what they're doing.

I'm guessing they're trying to determine how to turn a counter-service meal, where you order at a kiosk, into a fixed-price experience.

I didn't know when they extended it so this is good information. Guess I'll just keep checking!

Tell me about BOG breakfast. Is it to be a character meal? This is new since our last WDW visit in Dec 2012 where we had both a lunch and a dinner there. I just booked our Sept/Oct visit so of course, no BOG lunch ressies are available :(

No, it is not a character breakfast. It is basically a counter service meal just like at lunch. Reservations can be hard to get, especially for pre-park opening.

Here is the menu: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/dining/magic-kingdom/be-our-guest-restaurant/menus/

My guess they are looking to see what the difference was in # of people with reservations versus actual meals purchased as well. Since many people were making reservations for multiple people to get in before the park opened, not all were actually ordering meals. I know that some parties of 2 were only ordering 1 meal to share since they also gave out the pastry tray. I know that this would have been something I would have considered with my mom as she prefers pastries over a meal that early in the morning.

Still looking for this ADR every day for August. Really hope that they extend it! I'm afraid the one day I don't look is the day they'll open up the window and I'll miss it ... good luck everyone!

Truthfully, i think that they don't know what to do with this restaurant. It is so popular that they could book it solid for breakfast, lunch, and dinner as a TS experience, so if folks are booking and just getting juice and coffee for breakfast, in spite of this fixed price meal, dessert and coffee at lunch, they are losing so much money. My guess is that before they extend this breakfast into August they are going to find a way to either make patrons use one full credit upon entry, or every person must buy the fixed price entree, much like any buffet. I have no problem with this, but I think that Disney needs to decide what this restaurant is: Attraction? Restaurant? Character experience? It certainly is not just a CS restaurant during the day.

I agree with Nancyg56. I think they are trying to figure out how to extend this restaurant, because it is definitely not your typical CS restaurant. I'm just hoping they keep it as CS as I've used up all my dining credit TS ADR's.

They had a great opportunity to give us another TS restaurant but keep it moderately priced. We really do not have much to pick from in the MK. IF they wanted a character experience, but needed to avoid Belle because of ETWB, then how about the Beast, Mrs Potts and Chip? They would not even need to circulate them, just photos like they do with the Beast. Sell the pics and more revenue! Make it a Prix Fixe meal, offer a selection of appetizers, entrees and desserts, as well as beverages, and that keeps the voyeurs out. Every person who enters generates income. Pictures before or after the meal keep the line moving. This is a massive restaurant that is really underutilized, but did Disney ask us how to improve? Nope.

And honestly, in a TS environment they could give me a glass of wine with lunch. I would be forever grateful!

I'm making a trip down in July would love to have my b-day breakfast at BOG. Of course my b-day just happens to be 7/19, one day after the "test" ends. Just my luck! I've been checking daily for an extension. Hopefully soon!

How popular is it really? There are a ton of ADRs left in July which makes me agree that they are deciding how to make it work...

We ate breakfast at 9:15 on the 24 Hour Day. I would say half the restaurant was empty, some tables were clearly sharing. This is not the way a brand new, one of the few breakfast locations should be - on a day that was very busy. At breakfast there are plenty of openings but not lunch or dinner. Even with breakfast brand new it is not working as it should.

Agree with PP that they simply have not figured out, 2.5 years later, what to do with this place.

You allow pre-park opening times for breakfast. You make it counter service that is a fixed price, but higher than most table service breakfasts. You let guests share. People have been paying for CP and CRT for early entry now they can go to BOG and a family share a $20 plate. Makes no sense. Where were the bean counters when this decision was made?

Even lunch is a pain because half the folks can't work the kiosk efficiently and create long lines. Move the kiosks to some traditional counter service for a couple DIY registers and turn the library into a full time meet & greet with Beast and friends. Change over to table service all three meals and up our MK options.

I agree with everything you said. This restaurant should have been sold out from the get go. For some reason Disney cannot find the identity it wants for BOG, and that is a shame really. That entire Fantasy Land expansion could have been spectacular, allowing guests to become totally immersed in Belle's village and Rapunzel's tower. Completing the experience, a lovely meal in Beast's castle, where you have the rare opportunity to meet Belle's friends. WHo would not pay a premium to have their picture taken with Mrs. Potts or with Chip?????? People would pay a price for a meet and greet that includes characters. I like that BOG is a reasonably priced nice CS lunch, but was flabbergasted when I saw how breakfast was going to be handled. A fixed price meal that you allow to be shared? No characters? Just early entry is the only bonus, and after that prized hour the restaurant is just a shell to be used to cool off, or a place for coffee so you can see the inside without having to pay for food.

While I am at it.....and i know I am treading on think ice here, but I am still shocked Akershus has not incorporated A&E. I know that Belle has held court there forever, but to me, it makes sense to move A&E over there for a photo op. Disney cannot keep up with the Frozen crazy girls, and while I am not opposed to booking multiple Princess meals for my girls, a lot of people choose one. CRT or Akershus because they may see some of the same Princesses if they pay for both. I would make if harder to choose and therefore maybe more will choose both. Character meals are pricey but people are willing to pay, so I would want to offer as many diverse opportunities as possible with the more rare characters as the draw. And a Castle is pretty darn cool, no matter which one it is!
