BOG Breakfast--Do They Let Everyone in Together??

Something in another thread made me think about this. I got an 8:00 BOG breakfast for our trip in August. Great! I understand they let people through around 7:45. We'll make our way to the back, have breakfast, and be ready to go early. All sounded perfect...

But here's my question. I saw someone say that they let EVERYONE with an early ADR in at 7:45. So I'm thinking that means everyone who has an ADR right up until 8:45 or so. So are all those people lining up early to get in at 7:45??? Am I going to have to be there even earlier? And then is it jostling for a place in line at the restaurant?

I'm thinking it's not quite fair if a bunch of people who have ADRs for 8:45 or 9:00 show up early and get to go in first, before those of us with earlier ADRs. How do they control the whole thing? With a TS, I'm assuming they'd seat those with earlier ADRs first, but is the same for the QS breakfast at BOG? What time do I actually need to be at the front gate waiting to get in?

Yes as far as my experience goes they let everyone in at one time. But there weren't too many people and then they all do not have ADR at the same restaurant so it isn't a long line or wait.

I prefer the way it was a few years ago - you were only allowed through the gates 15 minutes prior to your ADR

That would be nice ! U r right ppl wilth 8 am ADR should have advantage over an 8:30 am ADR

We walked up right at 7:40 or so, got the OK to get in line, and walked right in a couple of minutes later. There really aren't that many people who have pre-opening ADRs, and there really aren't that many people who actually know that they'll let you into the park at 7:45.

The biggest thing you can do to give yourself an advantage is to pre-order your breakfast. Ordering the day of was really where the hangup occurred. We pre-ordered and got our pick of tables...meanwhile the lines at the ordering kiosks were really long. I ordered the night before, so it wasn't like it was something that needed to be done 30 days in advance, and by ordering just the night before, everyone pretty much knew what they wanted.

What time was your reservation? I have an 8:45 BOG reservation....have been trying to get an earlier time but wondering if I should just keep this one and go in early? Were you able to go into BOG right away or did you have to wait for the time of your reservation? TIA!

What time was your reservation jtowntoflorida? I have an 8:45 BOG reservation and have been trying for an earlier time.....wondering if I should just stick with this to enter the park early? Were you able to get into BOG early too? TIA!

Mine was 8:20.

I'm so frustrated with Disney about my BOG reservation. I'm trying to add my mom to the reservation, so we will be 4 instead of 3, and they have "no availability." Now, if they are letting everyone with an ADR in at the same time, I am certain that they could figure out a way to serve one more person so that I can keep my party together!!

Call and ask for her to be added. I've never seen a 3 seat table - it would be the same table for 4.

I called twice, hoping the second person would be more reasonable. I'm going to call again and ask for a manager. They say that the computer tells them they can't add another person.

I have a reservation for 5 for lunch and was unable to add a 6th person. Most places I was able to bump up to an even number....that does not seem to be the case with BOG. I am guessing because it's seat yourself.

Hello,

I am wondering if anyone has had any luck adding someone to a BOG Breakfast or Lunch? We have the exact same problem with two different BOG reservations. Our adult son just found out that he will be able to join us for part of our upcoming trip. I had no issues adding him to all of our ADRs, except for BOG Breakfast and Lunch. Our BOG lunch reservation falls on his Birthday and I mentioned that, but still no luck.

Thanks,

I was able to add my mom as a separate reservation for a few mins after our reservation - they would not let me make a reservation for 4, but I could make one for 1 person! You might try calling and have them search for just one. Since it is seat yourself, it shouldn't matter!

Thanks for the tip. I have tried to get a single person reservation by calling in and on MDE, but no luck so far. I will keep trying and this should up the odds greatly.

I think the situation is that BOG is a quick service restaurant - and therefore, the automated booking for ADRs acts a little differently.

When you are booking an ADR for BOG you are not reserving a table, you are booking diners. At a table service restaurant you reserve a table, at a quick service restaurant you are reserving a chair. They will fill the chairs, not the tabletops - at a quick service restaurant it's your job to find where that one elusive empty chair is, if that's all that's left.

At any other quick service restaurant, you have to find a place to sit yourself - possibly asking if you could share a table if need be, or move an unused chair to your table that is normally meant for 4.

So, if you're trying to add a person - if they've given out all of the chairs, they simply can't book over the capacity for that time period.

Seems like a shortcoming in the system - they haven't properly accounted for filling a QS meal with ADRs.

I have an 8:55 reservation and was wondering the same thing. What time will I be able to get in?
