BOG and Wishes question

Hi! We will be at Disney later this month! We have a 6pm adr at bog. Wishes is scheduled for 8pm that night. Where should we try to view from? We are newbies but I imagine we wouldn't have time to make it back around the front of the castle in time. Even if we could I would think people had been in place long before be could get there meaning we couldn't find a spot?

It depends on how long you take with your dinner, but it'll be at least an hour. If you can be leaving BoG around 7 I think you could get around to the front of the castle, though maybe not to a prime viewing spot (you want to move back closer to Main Street so you are not too close).

If that won't work, it is usually much less crowded in Fantasyland, near the "castle wall" that separates classic Fantasyland from the New Fantasyland area (between the Carousel and the 7DMT). This will put you much closer to the fireworks and they will be all around you. They do pipe in the music, but do not lower the lights. I don't think this is the best scenario for a first-timer to Wishes, but it's an option.

Check our the thread here for maps from the ever-helpful Robo that will show you the best Wishes viewing locations. I never stake out a spot all that early, and still manage to be in a good spot. The bridge to Tomorrowland might be feasible if you are a little late. Best of luck to you.

One of my absolute favorite memories from a trip a few years ago was watching Wishes from Fantasyland. It's a totally different experience than in front of the castle, but absolutely as magical. The fireworks are literally all around you and it is so much less crowded. About 10 minutes before the start, we were able to find a nice wall to sit on. It was fantastic. So if you get done in time to get to the front of the castle, great, but if not, find a spot in fantasyland where there aren't trees blocking your view, and just enjoy!
