I booked a lunch ADR at BOG for 3 people. A friend will be at the park that day and I wanted to adjust the reservation to 4 people but the system says no reservations for 4 are available at that time. Wouldn't we be seated at a table for 4 anyway? What are the odds that we can show up with 4 and they'll accommodate us? Hate to give up our reservation if we don't have to.

There is no way of knowing ahead of time if your friend will be seated or not. It has to do with capacity of the restaurant. Some restaurants do have 3 tops, though I'm not sure if BoG does. Lunch is quick service so there are no assigned tables. I would think you have a decent chance of your friend being allowed in, but what if they are not? Would you be willing to walk away and lose the $10 per person no show fee?

I would keep looking - even if you get a second reservation for 1. We do this many times - they will sit you together. We just did it at Cape May. Had a party of 2 and two parties of 1 and we got a table for 4. As long as the times are close to each other - like within 30 minutes. You should get it.

I think you seat yourself at lunch, and there are tables big enough to share, depending on the size of the party already sitting there. BOG might just not let your friend in at the front gate. I wouldn't risk it.

BOG lunch is quick serve. You seat yourself. Table sizes are irrelevant.

Find an ADR for 1 within 15 minutes, then sit together.

Thanks for the replies. I'll look for an ADR for 1. If they can't accommodate him on that day, he's fine with doing something else while we eat. He's very easy going and doesn't want us to change our current plans if he can't get in.

There are Fire Codes which dictate the maximum amount of people.
If the capacity is exceeded, some big fines are possible.
Disney will not violate the max-capacity of an eatery.

I would at least call the ADR line and check with them as well. I was going to BOG with a large group of ten and had to extend it to 12 and then 14 and they were able to fix that over the phone even though the site said they couldn't. It's at least worth a try! And yes like others have said finding an ADR for 1 would work as well! Have fun! : )
