Dumb question. I was planning on slathering body glide on my kids feet (and my own as well) to prevent blisters but they're wearing sandals so sunscreen on their feet is a must. Does the body glide interfere with sunscreen? I assume sunscreen first, body glide second? Can you then reapply the sunscreen later? Anyone have experience with this? I think the kids would take blisters over raging sun burn but would rather have neither. Since it is just now getting nice in the upper Midwest, they have not had much time to break in the new sandals.

It shouldn't interfere with the sunscreen. Runners use both all the time. I don't personally use Body Glide, but I wear both sunscreen and Vaseline when I run and haven't had any problems. I would do sunscreen first and then Body Glide. Body Glide actually makes a formulation with SPF in it, so if you're just using on feet that could be a good solution.

I am a huge fan of body glide. I am blister prone and have not had one blister at WDW or DLR since I started using it. Before that, I never had a trip without a blister. I have used it on DD (10) since her first trip at age 2. We put sunscreen on first, and then the body glide and we have never had a problem with the tops of our feet burning. I can see how if you did Body Glide First and then sunscreen it might be an issue because the body glide would likely prevent the sunscreen from getting really into the skin. Just put the sunscreen on first and you should be fine!

Not sure on their sandals, but you could always use the body glide only where it's needed for the sandal straps and then sunscreen the rest. I've never used the two together because I use it on my feet when I run. I've used body glide on my feet with sandals and depending on where the rub is I've found it's easier and more effective to put moleskin on the sandal, which is what I do for two of my toes. The pads lay funny and they need something softer to lay on. I can put the moleskin on the shoe and not worry and it's there a few days before I need to replace it. I also like the band aid blister prevention stick, mostly because I don't need to worry about washing my hands after and I can easily apply it where my sandal straps lay.
