I never got a chance to see Bob, so on Facebook when the 2013 Memorial link went up because of no show today, I started watching. I'm only 30 mins in and got to the part where Pete said a comment was made about why not stop doing these memorials, I have to say thank you for keeping them up.

I've been watching for the past year, I hear about Bob, but really haven't seen him, yes he is the reason for the show, but these memorials give me history and insight into the people on this show. I never knew about the retiring of the microphone, or the fact that a 5th person is always rotated out and not permanent (I was thought it was a scheduling issue)

One could say I should watch old shows from the archives, but lets face it, I know myself and I'm too busy to go and search for old shows and sit and watch them when I'm trying to keep up on listening to my other podcasts (Tuesdays are my "finish up mondays podcasts" and watch Macbreak Weekly and Disunplugged days)

So thank you for posting the link to last years memorial as I wouldn't have searched it out myself. I've actually been eagerly awaiting the tribute show this year for I think the past three weeks now (something seems to be always coming up so its delayed till next week again) and I will eagerly await the following years to come.

Thank You

All of the podcasts with bob are audio not video. Video podcasts are barely more than a year old I think.

I would strongly recommend listening to the old podcasts with bob in them. I did that last year. I listened all the way up to the episode in which he first passed. Warning: YOU WILL CRY! I felt like I got to know him even though it had been several years since his passing.

I've been around 'forever' and adored Bawb. As suggested, it's worth your time to go back to the beginning and listen to the podcasts starting from the beginning. I can almost guarantee you will feel as if you know each member. Yes, be prepared to cry at Bawb's passing.

I just started watching/listening to the podcast last year too. Since I have over an hour commute to work each way, I had more than enough time to go back and listen to the old shows. I see from your post that you said:

"I know myself and I'm too busy to go and search for old shows and sit and watch them".

Obviously, this is a very time consuming task. As others have said, all the old shows are audio only so you can listen on the go. In case that still doesn't help you, I highly recommend listening to at least one show. It is a Best of Bob show (5/20/08) that they put together right after his passing. It really gives you a good idea of who Bob was. I love the memorial shows but it is different to get to hear Bob for yourself instead of just people talking about him. I look forward to the show for this year. Unfortunately, with scheduling and power issues, the show keeps getting delayed. I know they have a lot to get to with missing a week and hiring a new team member. I have no doubt that they will still take some time soon to honor this man. As much as all of us love Bob, he means more to the podcast team than he could ever mean to us.

Do go back & listen to some of the early shows. Bob was Bob, unique & special & you will enjoy hearing him even though you don't see him. You, can go to the Bob Varley Memorial page & see pictures of him so you will have a face to visualize while you listen. Miss him still.

I live 10 mins from work, it would take forever to listen from episode one, hell I've tried listening to the Walt Disney audio book on audible and that was 33 hrs and 24 mins. At 20 mins a day that was 3 months just to listen to it all.

But I managed to squeeze in the best of bob and enjoyed the glimpse into the past. While I may not be going back to past episodes, I will look forward to the future ones as well as future "BOB" [how fitting that Best of Bob spells BoB] Knocking on wood that this week is the week of bob :)

Bob love bump.

It is always great to remember Bob, thank yall for continuing to honor him. His presence on the show is always missed, I can only imagine the hi-jinx he'd be up to with the video shows.

Made a point of listening to Bawb-casts during the drive to Florida and back this spring...got to hear and feel what made him so special. :)

Sorry posted in wrong place by mistake!

For anyone who hasn't gone back and listened to the archives, do yourself a favor and MAKE the time. They are totally worth it. You will fall in love with Bawb, I promise. There just isn't any way you can't love him. I love these shows each year because I get to remember what a wonderful friend I never got the chance to meet. You know how when something really big happens, and you can remember what you were doing and where you were in that moment? When I read Pete's post about Bob's passing, I had one of those moments and I'm sure many other long-time listeners did as well. Bob made a huge impact on so many people - he really was the friend you never got to meet for many of us and when I listed to the memorial podcast today, I grieved again for my friend. I laughed and cried; it is a wonderful way to keep his memory alive.

I listened to the 2014 memorial yesterday and I thank you all for continuing to do this wonderful tribute.

I want to give a special thank you to Jeni Lyn for voicing so eloquently what I've tried saying before. I felt I knew Bawb because he was a part of my life, he was in my home (or walking) with me every week and he was so much his natural self that I really felt a friendship with him. So thank you to the team for continuing the memorial and thank you Jeni for expressing what so many of us feel.

I only discovered the podcast after Bob's passing but did go back and listen to some of the old episodes that he was on. He seemed like such a great guy. I really wanted to say how moving it is to me that you have a remembrance show every year. It's important to move on but to me it doesn't mean; put those memories in the past. Bob may be gone but you guys do an amazing job celebrating and keeping Bob's memories alive.
